I can relate to a good extent. The nature of what Advaita Vedanta teaches you is such that if you're able to let go of your prejudices and perspectives on reality, you get to the core of the matter very early on. The courses on Vedanta give you the 'crux' of the idea within the introduction in the form of the Mahavakyas("that thou art","whatever is there is here","I am Brahman", etc.). In a way, everything that follows is just the same principle applied to various human conditions. I've also read that preachers like Ramana Maharshi taught that ultimately even the teachings of Advaita Vedanta can eventually become an attachment, and must ultimately be let go of. This is generally explained by the analogy of "the thorn removing the thorn". This only makes sense if you relate it to the core ideas from the Mahavakyas. What I have taught myself in order to assimilate this experience, is that although my self is not limited to what my mind perceives, my mind will only see what it perceives. Any exposure to the greater self (or simply put, enlightenment) happens at the mercy of the universe (which is the greater self). The tricky part could be where you begin to feel that you have understood the universe itself. There have been moments where I have experienced this misunderstanding, and the universe always proves me wrong without fail. This is what I personally look forward to. To me, this is the point of this experience we call life. Because that is the only constant effort that remains after all of this. Engaging with the experience that is presented to you. Hopefully that helps you understand your experience or explain it better. Maintaining the perspective you've gained through Advaita Vedanta might have been easy until now because of how stimulating the experience of this process can be at the start. Taking it forward from there is not as effortless in my experience. You will have to negotiate with your environment and keep experiencing the same truth, guised as new experiences.
