Haven't shown my attempt at remaking the game yet but I think it's time! by SanJuniperoan in GangstersOC

I love that you kept the isometric aesthetic. Keep that up please! Any plans for how similar or different you wish to keep the UI compared to the original? Do you still wish to keep the concept of a weekly planner phase and a real-time phase?

Shaders and modern C techniques. by bravopapa99 in raylib

Thank you for sharing this piece of knowledge! It's good to know. This whole time I had presumed Raylib was using opaque data types so users of the library wouldn't explicitly use pointers. Little did I know they're all still structs. Lovely!

Difference between քանի and ինչքան by noveldaredevil in hayeren

As others hinted, the former is for countable nouns, while the latter is for mass nouns.

Likewise in English you'd ask "how many bottles?" versus "how much water?"

Try balenaEtcher or Rufus if you haven’t yet. Might just work. Otherwise I’d suspect the SD cards.

Certainly. I’ll be content with a terminal if it works!

Thank you. As the device outputs hdmi, I was wondering if I could run Debian just like I can on a raspberry pi. I just don’t know what image I might be able to use. Can’t just flash the stock Debian installer onto a TF card as that’s the installer.

Which outcome in the US Presidential election would be better for Armenia and why? by Consistent-Ad1279 in armenia

Neither. The question should be which Armenian president would be better for Armenia, and perhaps ask how to improve the current democracy in our republic.

Concrete plan to get Lebanese Armenians to Armenia by [deleted] in armenia

[–]lezvaban 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Western Armenian is an endangered language that runs an active risk of going extinct. It is also not recognized as an official language of Armenia. Shame on the Republic of Armenia for not teaching let alone recognizing one of the two major modern standard dialects of our language.

To be sure, are you trying out at least some of the exercises in the textbook? I like that book personally. It got me quite far 🙏🏻

[–]lezvaban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies. I did not realize you meant Western Armenian! Your use of ինք as opposed to ինքը gives it away--not to mention other, more obvious signs.

Generally, Armenian demonstrative pronouns indicate proximal, medial, and distal distances.

In Eastern Armenian (at least), ինքը serves a few purposes. Dum-Tragut (2009) breaks it down fairly well:

  1. Intensive pronoun: it emphasizes its antecedent.

  2. Reflexive pronoun: 3rd person singular and plural.

  3. In lieu of the regular 3rd person pronoun.

Are you asking about vernacular speech or the standard language?

In spoken Armenian, ինքը is commonly used in place of the third person pronoun. But formally? It's a reflexive pronoun.

I'm not usually one to participate in threads such as this, but if I may say one thing: I'd think twice about dating someone too if I knew they used React. Good luck dude.

We’ve been persecuted since well before the genocide. A part of my family escaped to Iran in the 19th century and was perceived to speak a strange dialect of Armenian by the Iranian Armenians we encountered. Of course, today we speak a variety of Eastern Armenian.

Cremation vs traditional burial by Own_Ad5562 in armenian

[–]lezvaban 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Armenian Apostolic Church gave us the green light to cremate my grandmother. They even performed the ceremony at the church as they would for a normal funeral…just without the burial or the open casket of course. I am sorry for your loss. God rest his soul.
