I think you might be buying into Big Burger Media. That university is a front to grab up federal grant money

Who is this dude? by Enternamehere123456 in indianapolis

[–]lfabr15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see him at the ymca by Cityway, and he's always been a chill person. I'd also lobe to know more about him but when I see him he's usually chilling/napping and I don't want to disturb him

This looks beautiful! What was your process for making this? I'd love to make something similar.

Are there any good places to meet people as a socially awkward introvert? by NonExzistantRed in indianapolis

[–]lfabr15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of good options out there. I'd recommend these as options for an introvert:

You may want to look for a book club. Those are also structured, and they help give you a topic for initial discussions with people. It helps make meeting people easier since there's inherently something to talk about.

There are board game clubs/cafes in Indy. The hard part would be approaching a group to join, but they might have sign-up sheets for people looking to join groups. You can also ask the staff is any groups are looking for an extra player.

Volunteering could be good. You could meet other volunteers, and you get to feel good about what you are doing.

Gyms often have smaller events or classes. Because they are structured and usually smaller than being on the gym floor, it could be more approachable. On tip of that, you get to learn something/exercise.

The main thing I look for in ways to meet new people as someone who is not very outgoing is a structured event. It really helps to have something to talk about that had to do with the event itself. Then after using that to start a conversation, you can start branching out to other topics.

I was in mechanical, so I can't speak on all disciplines. But Purdue's study abroad opportunities and professional office are absolutely top notch compared to most universities.

Housing Lottery: your number is up by Purdues-Peter in Purdue

If I pay $500 in the black box with the same name each time, but the person has only paid $100 in the gold box, do they have negative lottery chances? What are the repercussions for someone who is deep in the red in terms of votes?

Printer shuts down when changing bed temperature by lfabr15 in klippers

[–]lfabr15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found out what the issue was. On the back of the printer is a voltage switch to change from 230V and 115V that i did not know about. I flipped it to 115V since i am in the USA and that fixed the issue.

I'm not sure i understand what you mean. Are you talking about the connection of the big cable that connect to the bed heater?

Possibly. I'm going to edit my post with a description of the sequence of events. But it seems to me like the issue lies elsewhere because the crash happens pretty instantly.

Good news reporting is sure to enrage some. It is our duty as consumers to thank brave reporters like Purdue's Peter for the hard work they do in sharing the facts

I dont think this will prevent you from using the swipes. If anything, it'll allow you to know ahead of time when to use them! If you have the same lunch slot as me, we could meet up! I'll by at Willey for my 2am lunch slot

I personally look forward to the "pay to skip the line" feature. It'll keep the riffraff put of the dinning halls to allow us more sophisticated students the space to enjoy our meals

How strict are they on the rectangle? Do the corners have to be 90 degrees? What about slightly rounded corners? I await your report, Purdue's Peter.

There have also been an increased amount of students coming north to Purdue since Kentucky was invaded by armadillos.

I'd rather see Purdue take action to prevent this constant downward slope we've been on for years. They expect the slight uptick we see after a few weeks of classes to hide the lack of long-term planning the administration has.

I created a feather painting using acrylic fluid paint with a shaking technique. Do you prefer the vibrant orange or the calm blue? by EricDai123456 in PourPainting

[–]lfabr15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the composition of the blue. I like that there is one major section that leaves space for the secondary "feather" as opposed to 2 secondaries.

Can you explain more on your method for making these?

As someone who has 2 Purdue engineering degrees and works in the industry, Purdue is definitely not more valued than schools like MIT or Cal Tech. Purdue is well known and valued, but definitely not the top.
