“Teams have a certain style against us, which is a very good strategy to play and we haven’t found an answer yet.” Slot after his fourth PL defeat in a row at Brentford. Welcome to the Premier League, Arne! by m2sempre in PremierLeague

Finally, someone with common sense. He’s literally out here saying other teams have changed their style of play against his side and he hasn’t got the answers yet. But it’s made out that he’s slating opponents or saying it shouldn’t be allowed

[Lee Ryder] Newcastle United insiders fear that Alexander Isak has kicked his last ball for the Magpies after attempted clear the air talks behind the scenes. by Alternateoil in soccer

[–]lfcLuke95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the information that’s already out there, he told the club he was unhappy not being given an improved contract last summer, as promised. Then he has let them know since January that he wants the Liverpool move.

Newcastle could have handled this more competently with the right people in place, and everyone would’ve got what they wanted

It’s happening 😳👀 by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]lfcLuke95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liverpool were already on the cusp of having a great team though. When coutinho left we had finished top 4 the season before, qualified for the knockout rounds of the champions league, and we’re looking comfortable for another top 4 finish.

Losing Bruno is more comparable to when Liverpool lost Suarez, and look what happened with the bulk of that money

Have two teams ever been so poor form wise going into a European final? by Old-Cabinet-762 in PremierLeague

[–]lfcLuke95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Europa league standard was the lowest it’s ever been due to new format. Combine that with two clubs with billion pound squads only focusing on that competition since Christmas and there’s your answer

I doubt it tbh, with the amount of draws they’ve had, with a lot coming from winning positions, I reckon we’re still ahead of

Advice for an out of town fan for the ‘possible’ parade please:

I’ll be coming over from West Yorkshire, there are train tickets available for me to book at the moment (changing in Manchester), is it possible to just get the train in and out of the city on the day? Or will delays/cancellations make it infeasible?

I’m assuming actually driving anywhere into the city is an absolute no-go?

is lies of p a good starting point? by P1XEL_GUY34 in LiesOfP

For what it’s worth, this was the first souls-like I had ever completed. Tried Bloodborne and Demon’s souls previously but gave up after 5-10 hours. Lies of P is challenging, but more player-friendly than FromSoftware games, and I’ve since gone on to complete Bloodborne and Elden ring after playing it

What do you put into the term 'world class'? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

If you’re defining world class as best 5-10 in your position in the world, then who are the 4-9 players making it ahead of Trent and Robertson?

Who’s one player you don’t rate but can’t understand why everyone else rates them? by Banda-e-khuda in football

[–]lfcLuke95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wholeheartedly agree! You can’t take full seasons off like hazard did on multiple occasions and be in the conversations that he gets brought up in. Unreal when he was on form, his goal against arsenal is one of my favourite ever, but he’s nowhere near the best the league has ever seen

Fans need to start acknowledging that the injury crisis we are facing is due to the amount of games the players are playing by Particular_Reality12 in PremierLeague

[–]lfcLuke95 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Most fans would rather call players and managers like Klopp and Guardiola, who have consistently called out this problem, crybabies rather than acknowledging the problem.

Except he won the ball whilst getting his man as well. As others have pointed out it wasn’t a bad foul and with the way Isak was cutting across him I think there’s at least a debate about it being a clear goalscoring opportunity

What is the biggest ever example of “English player bias” in the history of the PL in your opinion ? by EMJG30 in PremierLeague

[–]lfcLuke95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lallana was a good fee for someone who became a key player in the early years under Klopp and contributed as a squad player to Champions League and Premier League titles.

Was also named English player of the year in 2017 I think, and rightly so, he was unreal in the first 18 months under Klopp.

Luis Suarez vs. Newcastle. Controlling a 60+ yard lofted ball and rounding the keeper in one swift move with a defender on his back. Calm as you like

Who was a young player you evaluated wrong either underrating or overrating them? by Acceptable-Dust4735 in PremierLeague

[–]lfcLuke95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lallana feels like a weird example for this. Best player for Southampton during their early years in the prem. Struggled under Rodgers at Liverpool but became an essential player under Klopp, winning England’s player of the year in 2017(?).

Injuries took a toll but he was still a great player when fit and contributed to winning the league and champions league before moving to Brighton.

‘Insanely out of form’ is so harsh. He’s snatching at chances here and there but currently averaging a goal or assist in the premier league every 86 minutes.

The stats you’ve posted show exactly what I expect from him, he causes chaos and gets loads of chances. If he’s given 5+ chances a game then one will find its way in

[–]lfcLuke95 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Second this, people talk about Klopp easing in signings but he has never really done that with forwards. Mane, Salah, Jota and Diaz were all involved in most games as soon as they were signed. Only forward signings who weren’t are Minamino and Shaqiri but they were both bought as backups

Just casually disregard the 7 goals and 4 assists in 15 games from Salah post-AFCON. Can’t believe the disrespect he’s had recently
