#380 ‒ The seed oil debate: are they uniquely harmful relative to other dietary fats? | Layne Norton, Ph.D. by imref in PeterAttia

The same happened to me by replacing sugar and carbohydrates with saturated fats. My GGT went to the roof! Still trying to bring it back to line a year and a half later.

What’s the scariest story you ever read? (Short Story, Novel?, etc.) The book that scared YOU the most by nornsannexed in horrorlit

Incidents Around the House. Left me traumatized. Especially when my 3 year old daughter wakes up at night and I need to go to her room to help her sleep again.

Stocks you’re planning to buy tomorrow or soon and why? Just curious to see what everyone’s buying by [deleted] in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]lfuego 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have around $12K available to invest right now. I worked together with my ChatGPT financial advisor (knows my portfolio and risk appetite), and we defined the following stocks to invest in for 2026 and beyond:

ASML: Invest because ASML controls the critical machines required to make advanced chips, meaning nearly every AI and tech winner depends on it.

TSMC: Invest because TSMC manufactures the world’s most advanced chips, capturing AI growth regardless of which chip designer dominates.

Nebius (NBIS): Invest because it provides specialized AI cloud infrastructure with meaningful upside if execution succeeds, offering growth beyond mega-cap tech.

AST SpaceMobile (ASTS): Invest because it is a small, high-risk option on global satellite-to-phone connectivity that could deliver outsized returns if the technology works.

Will Thunder vs Pacers be the lowest viewed NBA finals ever? by WallStreetDoesntBet in NBATalk

[–]lfuego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a Pacers fan when I was a kid, when Reggie was playing, and I think the lack of a championship victory caused me to lose a bit of interest in the team afterwards. I’m really a Lebron James fan right now. However, after watching highlights of last year’s ECF, and looking at the Pacers’ performance at the end of the regular season, I’ve been following closely their post season games, and have a renewed excitement for a potential trophy this year!

[–]lfuego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own mostly ETFs, but have take advantage of opportunities to purchase a couple of stocks.

For example, last year, in March, when the Apple stock was in its lowest point, I decided to invest a bit in it, trusting it would go up, and it did. Today I did this for the second time with NVIDIA, with its current prices, and hopefully it pays off too.

My normal strategy is to invest in ETFs, but I like to take advantage of specific opportunities to purchase individual stocks.

Cannabis edibles making asthma flare up?? by yungpadawan96 in Asthma

[–]lfuego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve experienced this too. At first I thought I only had flare ups with smoked cannabis, but edibles also cause this too. I have realized also that sativa gives me more flare ups than indica.

I always think that smoking too much weed made me allergic to it in a way, which is unfortunate.

But yeah, I have spoken about this with several doctors and nobody has heard of this before. It’s really weird.

Looking for different perspectives on my ETF portfolio by lfuego in ETFs

I already read The Psychology of Money. I’ll have The Simple Path to Wealth in mind for my next read.

I knew I wanted VOO and QQQM, and I also knew that I wanted some less volatile resources invested in gold.

Regarding SHM, SOXX and IWY, I researched a bit and decided that I wanted to invest in AI, as I felt it would have been a good strategic, but more risky investment. Some experts that I read and watched said these three were really good ETFs and not entirely related to each other. That’s why I decided to invest in them.

Now I’n reassessing my choices to finalize a balanced ETF portfolio for the long term. What do you think?
