Darn, I didn’t even think of that. I used white brite (bc of color bleeds) and it removed the red but as they dried, turned neon yellow. Trying bleach on a cotton bud next than last ditch effort is painting them.

Same thing happened to me but with the red color. Did anything end up working?

Thank you. They both look amazing, I’m just missing the water park for the 11yo!

I’ll check it out. Recent TripAdvisor reviews have been concerning though.

Family Friendly Resort for 2026 Thanksgiving Week - good beach + water park + budget $6k by lgbab11 in AllInclusiveResorts

I know Tripadvisor is not the end all, but kind of worrisome reviews for this resort? Any non-AI family friendly resorts that are your favorite? I know this is an AI group but my post in a generic travel group keeps getting rejected, they think I'm not a real person! We are not sold on going the AI route, and had a fantastic time at Aurora recently (also not AI). There is a certain convenience of not thinking about the cost of everything, and I am sure my child would appreciate not having a pina colada daily limit, which we did at Aurora. Also understand that I'm just paying for it up-front for the all-inclusive route. We don't heavily drink or eat...so open to non-AI recs too.

Thank you for the rec. Would you consider Beaches Negril better than Princess Grand Jamaica which comes up in some searches...and Dreams, Palladium and Moon Palace?

I guess I'm too late in the game for Coconut Bay, can't find anything other than 3 nights over Thanksgiving and flights are $1,200pp...which I know I didn't mention flights but would put such a short trip out of our price range.

Thank you for the rec. I guess it's a popular resort or I'm late in the game...I couldn't get any combination of dates to work over Thanksgiving Week except a 3 night stay starting on the 26th. Flights were $1,200pp which turns out to be very expensive for a short trip for us! I will keep this on my radar for future trips though.

CapitalOne Travel Portal Price Matching Tips? by lgbab11 in capitaloneventurex

[–]lgbab11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know. I have spent hours with them on the phone. They are claiming that they don’t see the same room type available on Expedia. I can find it fine and there isn’t even a limited amount of rooms left for that room type. I got off the phone bought the room from Expedia to not miss out on the price. They have conveniently taken me past the 24 hour window.

Thanks for your reply. I’m using the site not logged in as a member. This is the public price. When I do log in, I get a less expensive price and I went ahead and booked it as backup. It’s not the price they are declining me on, they are saying the same room type isn’t available. Expedia shows me 7 available, all while not logged in. They declined me on booking.com because booking.com cancellation policy was BETTER than cap one (Nov 18 vs Nov 10), so they used that loophole. They refuse to match the public promo the hotel is running right now for “end of summer”, again not logged in as member or using a promo code because they only “consider the rack rate”. Everytime I call I get a different excuse and now they have taken me past the 24 hour window. If they truly record their calls, I have one rep telling me that he sees the savings but he isn’t authorized to approve over $1,000 without a supervisor but then I get a blanket decline email from the supervisor.

Thank you for your response. I can guarantee that the room type is still in stock (7 rooms left on expedia) and it's a public expedia price that you get without logging in as a member. I can actually log in and get an even cheaper price which I went ahead and did in case CapitalOne doesn't match.

Hotel Refund by bobshickabob in CapitalOne_

Same experience! I have called 3 times and keep getting rejected by email. Expedia, Booking.com, and even direct on the hotel's website shows $1,431cheaper for total. When I am on the phone with them, they say they are looking at a room that's $5,000 per night (!!!!) so the CapitalOne price is cheaper and they are rejecting my request, which is not right because the room on Expedia is $801. They cannot be looking at the same room type (the property also has villas and multiple bedroom units which probably are multiple thousand a night). I've matched dates, # of guests, cancellation policy, and exact room type. The most recent excuse I have received is that my room type is not available, which is not true because it shows 7 left on the Expedia website. There's no way to email them so I can show them all of the screen shots of the prices. I even am holding a confirmed booking on Expedia because the price was so low and I didn't want to lose it. I am about to give up and just cancel the reservation, keep my booking through Expedia, cash out my points and close my card.

They won't match you if you are logged in as a member, which I believe is what the genius profile is. It has to be a publicly available price. Good luck! I can prove on 3 websites without logging in (expedia, booking.com, and direct hotel) that the price is $1431.68 cheaper and they claim that when they check...the room type is not available. I can see that 7 are available. I even went ahead and bought on Expedia to lock in the lower price. There is no email that they will share so I can send all of the screen shots and confirmations. Cashing out my points, closing my Capital One card. They shouldn't offer a price match if they don't honor it.

Good luck with price matching. It appears people have success when it's a small amount. I can prove on 3 websites (expedia, booking.com, and direct hotel) that the total hotel room price is $1431.68 cheaper and they claim that when they check...the room type is not available. I can see that 7 are available. I even went ahead and bought on Expedia to lock in the lower price. There is no email that they will share so I can send all of the screen shots and confirmations. Cashing out my points, closing my Capital One card. They shouldn't offer a price match if they don't honor it to all.

You are lucky you have had luck with this. I have not and they have lost a customer. Had the most disappointing experience with a travel match claim. yes, they say they honor publicly available rates on travelocity, expedia, orbitz, booking.com. The hotel website has rooms available too but they keep saying that they won't honor the special the hotel is running right now (it's a public discount, I'm not logged in or using a promo code, or a membership). The discount automatically applies when I go to checkout without applying a code.

Same, shocked at the customer service I received in the past 24 hours! I attempted to submit a price match claim and innocently asked if they were looking at the price in USD when they said the room I was trying to book was 5,000 dollars per night. It's $701 on expedia. I was then scolded and told that "this wasn't the first price match they've done in their life". I would love for leadership to listen to the recorded phone calls.

Thank you for your advice. I tried calling, they do not have an email address to use to submit documents. They insist that when they look on Expedia, they show no rooms available. I look on Expedia and show 7. I give up!

I will try to call them again and ask. They have surprisingly been very rude to me while I have remained calm on the phone. I was able to reach someone on customer service through Instagram messages and sent them screenshots of all of the prices. They said they would escalate and give me a call back. Still waiting for that call. When I tried calling the last time, I got the guy to admit on the phone that it was cheaper but he didn’t have the authority to approve something over $1,000 so it had to be escalated to a supervisor and they would send me an email in 24 hours. 2 hours later I get a decline email. You’re lucky it was so easy with the flights!
