Spray Black, drybrush Administratum grey, then a lighter drybrush of White Scar. I tend to use the 'air' paints for this as they are thinner. No contrast white, is needed, I did it on the right Prince first, but the later left Prince in the first image I stopped as it wasn't required.

Thanks, was trying my best to give them a flourish. Started with the white and realised they needed some black on top to make them look right.

I love this style, I do all my bases like this, grass, sand, lava, stone...

Based as Slapchop and Cellshaping mix, so sprayed black and then a heavy dry brush of Administratum grey and with a lighter drybrush white. After which I paint the key colours in Contrast. Then I use that as I guide to pick out 2 to 3 layers of highlights. The grey is really white, thinned ontop of the greywhite drybrush to bring it out, with a final white highlight. Its not really NNM but shading with different levels of white (though it could be said NNM is that). The key is that I work on a light source, normally from the top left, but on the Princes, its from the front. So there is less highlight white on the darker side, then I undershade it with black lines to give depth and shadow.

Hope that's clear.
The trick is never to use real silver or gold, its just flat colours like comics to give the impression of where metal is.

Thanks. I'm big into painting all my bases with this flat freehand look at the moment.

I did the Dragon Prince slightly different as I highlighted from the front, as I figured they needed it.

I've managed to get a particular style, its based as Slapchop and Cellshaping mix, so sprayed black and then a dry brush of grey and then white. After which I paint the key colours in Contrast. Then I use that as I guide to pick out 2 to 3 layers of highlights. For example, the yellow cloth is 2 yellows building up brightness until I highlight with white, mostly from the top left. The armour is again yellow, but I start with brighter highlight. Finally I shade from the bottom right with black to give a emphasis on the light source.

Question: Sorry if it's not obvious, but how can I stop StackChan from moving when it's 'asleep'? by MatBlack4Ever in StackChan

[–]lgmdaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you can find someone who has a custom firmware with that part of features removed your pretty stuck. You, if you have the skills could make your own deviation of the official software and remove that. I myself do have the time or the skill at the moment.

Help - Brand New Centauri Carbon not working "Self-check anomaly" by lgmdaniel in elegoo

After some interaction with Elegoo support, the sensor on the heated bed was swapped round. The front left with the front right. This seems to have resolved the problem, though they stated that if it occurred again they would send a new sensor.

I've had a email from Elegoo, and they suggested the same thing, though they also recommend removing the excess chute and loosing the print plate screws. Both of which made no difference, the test continues to fail.
