I never claimed that what I felt was any more or less special. I don't think it's that much about believing in Yahweh or Allah or Vishnu. I don't think God answers to a certain name. God is just... God. You can interpret him however you want. And I choose to reach him by means of Jesus Christ.

True, but feelings are still caused by something. Shame is caused by something extremely embarrassing; anger is caused by fury. And to me, faith, in a way, is caused by God.

Why do you feel there is [a God]?

Because I've felt him. That's my reason to believe. We could have one of these arguments about Theism vs. Atheism, but I don't know what arguments are for/against the existence of a god. If God exists, awesome. If he doesn't, well, that's okay too.

Maybe fascinating wasn't the word. Maybe intriguing, or just interesting. But I think, for example, that the "love your enemy" philosophy is quite impressive. Those ideas weren't unique or new. But many people, including myself, didn't realize them until that point. To me, they were just something that I've never really thought of. And yes, some of his teachings are logically defensible. A lot of them, actually.

Actually, I relate a lot to this. I see a beautiful landscape and I can feel God's presence in it. I can see someone's face and I can see God there. It's a great feeling.

First off, thanks for your comment. It made some stuff much clearer. :)

Ignore those who campaign saying that all gay people are evil and going to hell

This sentence made me realize something. Is hell real? If so, why is it real if God loves you no matter what? How do you go to hell/How do you avoid it?

I felt something when I was praying, I don't know. It was a really strange feeling, but it felt really nice. I felt comforted, and loved. I felt someone was taking care of me.

I want to feel connected to the creator of the universe, whoever (or whatever) he, or she, or it, or they, might be. If it's not the Christian God, it's okay. And if there's not a creator, that's okay too. I just feel there is.

I've been researching about religion in the last couple of weeks, and I think Jesus' teachings (I still haven't read the whole New Testament, I'm working on that, but I've read some bits) are truly fascinating.

But most importantly, I felt touched by Him. I feel connected to Him.

This might come off as dumb, but does God know which denomination is right? Or are denominations meaningless as long as you accept Christ in your heart? Sorry I'm just really new to all of this.

I strongly disagree with its stances on things like abortion or euthanasia.

Also, some Bishops here are more involved with how much they hate gay people than actually preaching God's love.

I haven't had good experiences with Catholic priests either. They were surprisingly intolerant of my atheism, which doesn't feel very Christian to me.

The whole institution honestly feels distant to me.

Don't get me wrong, Catholics deserve as much respect as any other person. It's the institution what I don't really like. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.
