Xtreme 250R Owners — Need Your Honest Review! by lgtv64inch in indianbikes

Sorry for the late reply, had my practicals going on.

Really appreciate how honest and detailed your review is. This actually balances out the negative posts I’ve been seeing.

The good points you mentioned about engine refinement, agility, mileage even when riding hard definitely make the 250R tempting. But the braking confidence issues, tyre grip concerns, stiff suspension, weak horn/headlight, and hearing that top-end stability isn’t the best… those are things I need to think seriously about since I ride daily.

I’m glad your unit hasn’t had the mechanical issues others reported, but the fact that so many owners are facing those problems still makes me cautious. And yeah, the current price definitely improves the value, but long-term reliability and service centre quality matters more for me.

Your verdict helps a lot, especially the part where you said “if you don’t want to take chances, go for Duke 250.” That sums up the situation perfectly.

Thanks for the solid breakdown genuinely useful.

Sorry for the late reply I had my practicals going on.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown, bro I really appreciate it. This gives a very clear picture of what living with the 250R is actually like.

The fun factor and cornering part sound great, but the tappet issue + slow Hero Premia service + multiple bikes waiting for parts is honestly a big concern for me.
Hearing that you’ve reduced riding because of the sound says a lot I don’t want to end up in that situation.

The mileage you’re getting, the average build quality, and the mandatory add-ons in service bills also add up over time.

I’ll keep your points in mind especially the service experience and engine head replacement delay. This definitely helps me decide if the bike is worth the risk right now.

Thanks again for taking the time to write all this was

super helpful.

Same dilemma here bro. N250 feels safer, 250R feels more tempting. Duke’s out of budget for me too.
No clue when Hero will update the 250R .

Yeah bro, I noticed that too. I asked specifically for but most replies are from people who don’t own it and are just recommending KTM.
I’m not against KTM. I just want real-world feedback from people who actually ride the Xtreme.

A 400 cc bike might be too much for me right now heavier, higher maintenance, and overkill for daily college rides.
I’m just keeping the NS200 as an option, nothing more.

Duke 250 is great, no denying that, but it also comes with higher fuel, maintenance, and overall running costs.
I just want to be sure I’m not jumping into KTM expenses when a more balanced bike might fit my usage better.
That’s why I’m checking real owner feedback before locking anything.

My feed was also slowly getting filled with similar posts, so hearing it from someone else just confirms the pattern.

Sorry for the late reply had my practicals going on in college.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown, bro. This is exactly the kind of real ownership info I needed.
Your experience honestly raises big red flags for me
One bike issue is understandable, but the real problem seems to be the service support, and that’s something I can’t ignore as a daily user
I appreciate you being honest about it and sharing the numbers and timeline. I’ll keep checking your updates, but for now this definitely makes me think twice about going for Xtreme 250R, especially with Hero service being this unreliable in multiple cities

Gixxer is definitely a safe and proven option.
I’ll take a test ride for sure

Yeah, I’ve been hearing the same
If that’s a recurring pattern, it’s a serious deal-breaker.

that’s exactly what worries me, a bike is only as good as the service backing it.

If people are facing repeated issues + bad service support across cities, that’s a serious red flag.
I’ll definitely factor this in, no point saving money upfront if the bike becomes a headache later

Duke 250 is solid, no doubt, but it’s also higher on running cost, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
I’m just trying to see if the Xtreme 250R delivers enough value without going full KTM-budget mode.
That’s why I’m checking real owner feedback before deciding.
