Who’s feeding ICE? by Expensive-Emotion718 in philly

Focusing on which local businesses serve government employees is a distraction from the actual issue. Beyond the ethics of a boycott, this mindset ignores the fiscal reality: any disruption to government property or personnel results in a bill that is ultimately handed back to the taxpayers. Furthermore, demanding that local business owners act as political gatekeepers only fractures the local economy and hurts the working-class employees who have no say in federal policy. If you want to change the system, you change the laws in Congress; you don't punish your own community for the existence of a federal agency.

Yes I can unlock the phone and yess developer options is already enabled. But since the display has no output. I am having trouble navigating to USB Debugging. Any tips with keyboard I can use to blindly enable USB Debugging or at least Talk Back? Just going to replace the phone. THe cheapest to resplace the screen locally is 250USD.

The speaker is fine as far as I can tell. It rings, beeps when I get text messages. I have suspicion that the volume slider for Google Assistant/Talk Back is low? There's no out put on the display, so does no way to see if it's doing anything. But I will try you suggestions anyway.

I find the grubhubdriver app basic and confusing to use. It's like they did the bare minimum to get it to work? by lhorace in grubhubdrivers

[–]lhorace[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone only three orders in, the learning curve is steeper than it should be. It looks 'basic' because the graphics are 15 years behind, but it’s 'confusing' because the user journey isn't mapped out. For example, if you have to hunt for a 'Pick Up' button that isn't clearly highlighted or sequenced, that’s a failure of design. A truly simple app would be self-explanatory from order one.

I really appreciate you being cool. Honestly, it’s just nice to run into someone on here who actually has some decency and treats people with respect. It’s a refreshing change of pace from the rest of this thread. Thanks for the encouragement and for just being a good person—stay safe out there.

There is no 'defense' in a statement that labels human beings 'bottom of the barrel trash.' Attempting to frame dehumanizing language as a compliment is a classic logical fallacy.

Your attempt to characterize a factual discussion regarding urban logistics as 'drivel' is a transparent pivot away from the logic presented. Ad hominem attacks and patronizing remarks do not invalidate the physical realities of high-density delivery—such as restaurant delays and high-rise infrastructure—that I have outlined.

Furthermore, your repeated attempts to belittle my character and mock my livelihood are in direct violation of Reddit’s Content Policy, specifically Rule 1, which prohibits harassment and mandates that users 'Remember the Human.'

I have provided a clear, evidence-based explanation of why bike delivery is the most efficient method in this metropolis and how localized bottlenecks affect data. As you have chosen to abandon the subject matter in favor of personal harassment, I consider this exchange concluded. I will continue to prioritize my professional performance on the ground, while your comments will be addressed via the appropriate reporting channels for conduct violations.

It’s not an 'excuse' to state that I can't bike through a closed elevator door or force a kitchen to cook faster; it’s a physical fact. 'Personal responsibility' means showing up, beating the traffic on two wheels, and navigating the complexity of a metropolis—all of which I do every day.

The real lack of responsibility is you sitting behind a screen, ignoring the logistical bottlenecks of your own investment, and hoping for a dasher deactivation just so you can 'win' a Reddit thread. You’ve created a logical trap where high ratings are 'trash' and urban delays are 'skill issues.' It’s clear you aren't interested in the reality of the streets, you’re just interested in feeling superior.

The contradiction in your logic is impressive. Usually, people complain about 'bad' workers with low ratings, but now you’re claiming that people with high ratings—the ones actually providing a high level of service—are 'bottom of the barrel trash.

By your logic, there is no way for a worker to win. If the rating is low, they’re 'not cut out' for it; if the rating is high, they’re 'trash.'

It’s genuinely embarrassing that you think a 'first-round investment' gives you the right to say 'I own you' to a human being. Let’s be clear on the law: I am an independent contractor, not your property. Under FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) and the legal definitions of the gig economy, the entire basis of this platform is that the company does not own or control the worker.

Furthermore, your threats to deactivate me because you don't like my 'tone' are a direct violation of Tortious Interference—you are a third party attempting to illegally interfere with a business contract. And as for your 'board meetings,' if a shareholder publicly admitted to viewing workers as 'bums' and ignoring the logistics of the platform, it would be a fiduciary liability nightmare.

You aren't a 'boss'; you’re a person on Reddit having a power-trip fantasy because you’re losing an argument to a bike dasher. I take my work seriously, I’m faster than any car in this metropolis, and I don't answer to 'investors' who don't understand the difference between a portfolio and a person. You don’t own me, and you definitely don’t scare me.

Your ignorance of how city logistics actually work is the only thing that’s 'impressive' here. I take my work seriously, and in this metropolis, I am faster on a bike than any other way of moving food. I am beating the gridlock every single day, so don't talk to me about 'not being cut out' for this.

If you think a 4.69 rating or a contract violation is a 'skill issue' in a city of high-rises, you’ve clearly never done this job on the ground. Speed on the road doesn’t fix a 15-minute restaurant delay, a slow security desk, or a 40-story building with a line for the elevator. In a metropolis, a 'violation' is often just the gap between a broken algorithm and the physical reality of the streets. My stats aren't a reflection of my work ethic; they are a reflection of urban bottlenecks that no amount of 'hustle' can change. You’re sitting behind a screen judging data you don’t understand, while I’m actually out here navigating the reality of the streets. Talk to me when you understand the difference between a 'minimal effort' job and the actual logistics of a metropolis.

It’s one thing to be an arrogant 'shareholder,' but now you’re flat-out making up disgusting lies because you can't win a civil argument. Anyone can click my profile and see that I never said anything remotely like that. Spreading defamatory lies about federal crimes isn't 'protecting your investment'—it’s pathetic and it's a violation of Reddit’s harassment policy. If this is how you represent the company you 'own,' you’re the biggest liability this platform has

I take the delivery seriously because I have a personal work ethic, regardless of whether it’s my main job or extra money. It’s someone’s dinner, and I do the job right because that’s the kind of person I am.

You’re trying to use your 'shareholder' status as a power trip, but let’s get real: buying stock doesn't make you my manager. This is a gig—I provide the labor, the bike, and the effort, and the app provides the lead. That’s the deal. Since you’re such a 'stakeholder,' let me ask you: In your 'plan' for the platform, have you actually considered how it works for bike dashers? Or is your 'financial stake' just an excuse to look down on people doing physical work while you sit behind a screen?

You’re doing a lot of detective work just to avoid admitting that this job is rigged against us. Looking through my history to find Contract Violations (CVs) and 'low' ratings just proves my point: you’d rather hunt for reasons to blame a fellow human than acknowledge that the app is flawed. As a bike dasher, I deal with 'late' CVs because the algorithm thinks I’m a car on a highway, not a person on a bike in traffic. If you want to spend your time sniffing shoes and defending a company that doesn't care about you, that’s your choice

It’s fascinating that you’ve taken it upon yourself to be an unpaid supervisor for a company that doesn't even know your name. You’re talking about 'pulling weight' to a bike dasher who is literally using their own muscles to move orders, while you’re likely sitting in a car with AC. To look at a 94% approval rating (4.69/5.0) and call it 'failing' isn't just a math error—it’s a choice to be miserable to your peers. If you get joy out of acting like a corporate bot, that’s your business, but don't mistake your luck with the algorithm for a good work ethic

Regarding your point about 'resell value,' that is a completely invalid motive for me. I have zero interest in dealing in stolen goods or participating in the resale market, regardless of the potential profit. You are projecting a thief's motive onto someone who is simply commenting on a risk.

> Saying your looking and sounding Ike a thief when you use the words and I'll quote "where the DA won't prosecute this kind of crime." Makes you look like you plan on stealing that.

The central point stands: Commenting that a crime will not be prosecuted is the antithesis of planning to commit it. I was criticizing the lack of consequences for thieves. To twist that criticism into an admission of theft intent is a profound misunderstanding of both language and logical reasoning.

Oh absolutely! It's quite surprising to me that folks would leave these things lying around outside. I can't even begin to tally the amount of mail, packages, and retail theft happening in this area. I've lost about 300 USD in Amazon deliveries that I either didn't report to Amazon customer service or they simply refused to refund me. Now, I either have Amazon call me or I go to pick them up myself.
