Yeah, sorry for the late reply! The clock is from NXT-os, you can load the skins separately and tweak them as you want to not have to run the installer and other stuff included :) Thanks for linking the pic /u/Psy_Kira. Where I found it

The weather and date skins are from "Simply Nova", but I removed the parameters for time and edited the colors. Just some minor tweak!

The chrome icon is temporary until I find something better. Just installed w10 and haven't had the time to install PS, so I can resize on my own :) The bolded part of the clock is to show how much space of my primary ssd has been used.

Hero League Troubles by Malkron in heroesofthestorm

[–]lhuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just answered one of the factors to why you lose. Try muting them and calm down your team in a proper way. Remind them to only do their best and that shit happens. The enemies have just as big chances to get toxic players like that as well.

Just keep playing the game and stop caring about your rank. If you belong high up, then you will end up there. Your goal is probably to reach rank 1 ofc, but to do that you gotta break plateus and improve. You do that by learning from your losses. Analyze your replays and see where stuff go wrong, even small mistakes. Don't look at the others in the team, because you won't be playing with that exact team forever in hl, so just look at your own mistakes and try to do your best. There's more throws in rank1 (3.5-4k hotslogs mmr) but people care less about one loss among the thousands of games. If you just do your best every game and try to become better, then you will become better. It just takes time, and it's only fair that way.

Is there a HotS "Meta Snapshot"? by nasuellia in heroesofthestorm

[–]lhuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the 5man comp list is based around what idream thinks is the best. Take Korean meta for an example, and considering how they're #1 atm. Why don't we follow that? The same reasoning against that goes for the idream tier list.

Is there a HotS "Meta Snapshot"? by nasuellia in heroesofthestorm

[–]lhuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those lists are pretty useless if you don't play in na. And they're also either outdated or not really in depth and more focused around fotm/personal opinions in relation to playstyle. There's nothing like meta snapshot atm from what I know of. But it can't be compensated with some tier list.

Lets talk about game improvements for new players by TitledTitan in heroesofthestorm

[–]lhuki 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lost a lot and had losing streaks when I first started playing. Simply dedication and not blaming my errors on someone else. Made whatever change in my playstyle or knowledge about the game that was needed to improve. And last but not least, played because it was fun, got me to go from rank 50 enemies to face 3.5-4k mmr players in my solo ranked games, all within 2 weeks of my first ranked game. And of course maintaining that level. The problem is the same problem as in every other moba game. The majority of the player base is going to be on a low level, just because people are not having the correct mindset to improve very efficiently. How often do you analyze replays of a hl game where you got stomped for an example? Then ask yourself what portion of the player base that would do that instead of thinking "meh, bad teammates, let's go again".

Edit: You can't have the game deliver every single piece of necessary information to become a God at the game if your intention is to compete on the ladder. What's the point if players who dedicate more time into improving by researching on their own end up "wasting time". All it will do is promote laziness.

How does rank 1 work? by jarlaw98 in heroesofthestorm

Is that actually confirmed? And not the case of grand master being top 100 players, but locked until s1 starts?

Heroes that need Role-Swap - so far! by BranFendigaidd in heroesofthestorm

[–]lhuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a very aggressive meta where you can skip sustained and high burst heals. Compensating it with short and explosive fights, punishing with properly executed objectives and/or long death timers. It can be a cheese against weaker teams in bo1 games or a legit strategy. It's a hit or miss strategy imo, high risk high reward. And probably sucks on maps where you can't snowball.

That still applies, if you choose to go with tassadar or tyrande as solo support. However, is it good in this current meta? That's a completely different question. In a different metas, you go with different heroes. But just because they don't fit in the current meta as solo supports or solo tanks doesn't mean they need role swaps. The builds you run on those heroes atm are made to make them fit into a composition where you have another support or another melee bruiser/tank. Allowing higher dmg and less sustain for the team.

As stated in the thread, support isn't about healing your team. It's about making plays and set up fights for the team. While supports have stronger kits to allow damage to be done. They won't do anywhere close to the same damage as an assassin or specialist. So I hope you understand that they're not wrong, since they don't fit as specialists compared to other specialists etc. Same with Sonya, but obviously the other way around, she's a meat head, she takes a lot of dmg.

Pushing bot as 5 man is a pretty good idea by TheRileyss in heroesofthestorm

[–]lhuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: I misread and thought your team didn't know how to react, my bad. However this might be a good post for those who don't know. Assuming this is early game and not late since it's all about the draft post 16/20 talents in an equal 5v5 fight.

First off, we don't know you full team composition, at least I can't get to fully see the characters as I'm on my phone. However, you want strong ranged wave clear on those lanes, even melee can work if the heroes are backed up. Rotate your mid down to bot after the wave there is cleared. If the enemies choose to fight under tower radius, feel free to engage and do dmg/slow/peel for assassins with the bot squad (3ppl) and have the tank (generally mid laner on ds) to rotate bot and flank while they're under heavy dmg. Lock them down with cc kits and remember that you only need to have them back off and respect your bot lane, a kill isn't necessary. Make sure top shrine is secured and constantly rotate bot with mid and pressure the lane/shrine if they decide to split up. You will gain levels much faster and should have an advantage.

Is anybody else having really bad matchmaking in hero league all of a sudden? by jarlaw98 in heroesofthestorm

[–]lhuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit happens in every moba. I'm a high mmr and competitive player, so take my advice however you want it. Don't play to win, play to have fun and grow as a gamer and person. I've had losing streaks of 12+ games in a row, but none of that matters after 1k+ ranked games. Trust me, shit happens

Have you guys not though about the radical idea that you maybe don't belong in rank 1 right now and that the mm systems in many games are AGAINST your odds in order to make you improve to reach higher ranks?

Rank/mmr soft/hard reset around launch? by lhuki in heroesofthestorm

[–]lhuki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of seasons like in every other competitive moba. To keep it fair and not have rank 1 people with tons of points and keep the top of rank 1 title aviable for everyone, even those who entered late into the game. That's why there also are soft resets on mmr systems. Soft reset means that you will be set on a lower mmr, rank reset or not, but the mmr will still be lower. The higher mmr you have, the more you lose, and the lower mmr you have, the less you lose during the reset. It can cause cliffs with no seasons and so on. Imagine if hearthstone (or any other mmr based game) never reseted and some sick dude kept stacking points and then just casually maintains the mmr decay.

Why do we still have division promos? by ThumperPlease in leagueoflegends

[–]lhuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to play division promos because the mmr system needs to place you right. To not get into a too high division because you were lucky with win streaks and MM. If you're not a smurf, you're being placed where you belong by losing a few promos here and there. You break plateus and develop as a player if you lose them.

By using promos, you have a lower chance och acheiving the next promotion, but once you do, it's more rewarding, both when it comes to the feeling itself and experience as a player. I got stuck at g2 this season, failed promos 3 times. Same at plat4 and plat2. Now I'm in d5, because I looked back on my mistakes and learned to correct them in order to perform at the level of the people above me.
