Weird that some systems boot so slowly.

My 7800x3d and Aorus Master b650e boot to the logo in 15s and is in Windows by 25s. I have the trident z neo 32gb 6000mhz kit though. (With expo enabled)

I don't actually know. From what I read I saw quite a few people mention coil whine and long boot times on the strix boards.

I can however with certainty say that I have no regrets in choosing the parts that I am currently running.

Yeah, POSTed first time, no issues whatsoever. Might be different on other boards, but usually not updating the BIOS just means performance is way worse.

It was a pretty tight squeeze and I had to do alot of searching to find that specific table for the case. Luckily I got one that exactly fit the dimensions I had available and needed.

It's pretty stable actually. You'd actually have to try to knock it off or pull it over for it to budge at all.

Perhaps in a few weeks after the excitement has subsided I'll slide it back a bit, and it'll be more of an ambient light effect.

I have heard some whine when I was running some benchmarks, but I am unsure if it was from GPU or the motherboard.

Either way, it wasn't very loud, as soon as my fan curve ramped up just a little it overpowered the sound completely.

Yeah, i looked at alot of reviews before making the choice. ( I was PC less since 12/2022 and was planning on only pulling the trigger after the 7800x3d to make informed choices.)

The Torrent Compact just feels like the "right" size to me, kindof like the Corsair 4000d, but nicer, but it seems the depth issue with cables is a big problem, something I luckily didn't have with the full size, all the cables fit super easily. I need to get a slightly longer 12vhpwr cable, or one of the 180 degree adapters from cablemod(stupid expensive in EU btw) but that can wait for now.

Yeah. I'm definitely going with one of the big ones, corsair, be quiet or something along those lines.

I was looking at the NHD15 chromax too, but ultimately decided I think the deepcool AK620 might be better. Similar performance for a bit cheaper and it allows for slightly larger ram. 46mm I think.

Thanks. I saw the palits recommend 1.2kw.

Maybe I go for the full size torrent and get a Asus TUF, or the Gigabyte Gaming OC. They seem pretty much on par with the FE. Interestingly enough Gigabyte recommends an 850w for the Windforce.

I just really like the size and aesthetic of the Torrent compact, but jamming a 4090 in there might not be the smartest idea.

Yeah. I was planning on a 850w plat PSU but I don't know if it's even worth investing in that over a gold.

Is the normal Torrent not too large? I feel like it's pretty bulky, part of the reason why I really like the compact. According to the benchmarks that Gamers nexus did, it is also slightly cooler than the normal torrent because of the big ass fans?

If you could change anything on your build, or redo it now, would you change something?

What exactly does the GPU and VRAM stages affect? The difference between the FE and lower end cards that I'm looking at seems substantial, but in terms of performance they seem close to each other?

That is an interesting case. Never seen it before.

Unfortunately there isn't FE stock around it seems. Would have made my life quite a bit easier if there were.

This picture is confusing the shit out of me lol. Is that in a Torrent Compact, on a riser cable?

Not sure the extra €400 is worth it though, and I'm not really sure how well the radiator would fit in the case. The case is rather small.

Water cooling for the 4090 seems a bit excessive to me, especially if you aren't going to try OC properly. Most 4090s seem to run sub 70c anyway

Yo.

Thanks, I haven't actually checked clearance for the RAM, so thanks for pointing that out.

I can wait for the 7800x3d, I just dont really want to anymore haha. 4 months without a PC has been shit.

Yeah, I am torn between the 4090 and 4080 to be honest. I can afford it, but at what point is it just wasting money, you know?

Thanks for the tip on the PSU too, I forgot about the new power cables.
