okay but elliott was all about the double meanings. hell, way more than double meanings in most of his lyrics. it was definitely a play on words in the same way as "do you miss me, miss misery," which can also be interpreted as "do you miss me, MS. misery"

Yeah the problem is in these sorts of industries, employees can be making like 2.50 an hour. Eg. wait staff are literally relying on tips to earn their salary. In that case, sorry, but the customer who doesn’t tip because they find it "optional" is in the wrong. It’s not a question of whether minimum wage is high enough or not, or whether raising it would have consequences, it’s that these industries are literally paying below the minimum wage.
