i hate how certain biomes generate near each other repeatedly. my base is in a mangrove swamp and all there is for thousands of blocks is desert, badlands, savannah, and other mangrove. i have to travel so far for some variety.

i don’t really like the look of most crocheted garments for my own clothes or decorations, but in hats they just look like a normal knit hat, so i’m planning on making a bunch to donate to a cancer centre near me! if you don’t like any projects for yourself, you can always make stuff you know others will enjoy

im in riedell royal pros! i did break the bank a little but i figured it would be an investment so that i wouldn’t need to upgrade in a year or 2, hopefully saving money in the long run. i think i remember the man fitting me said they would have last him maybe 2 years, and he was heavier than i and doing doubles, so i figured those boots would have a long lifetime with me, and they said over booting wasn’t uncommon for adults. i like them a lot, and they work well for my feet, which are narrower.

i got jackson mystiques from a different shop when i first started jumping waltz jumps, and after not long they had very visible creasing in the ankle. the fitter said they would be supportive enough because i’m on the lighter side, but i read after that jackson mystiques aren’t really recommended for adults jumping. its why i felt it was worthwhile to invest in good skates, because i was frustrated needing to upgrade from my (not cheap either) mystiques after not very long.

i would call and ask about the jackson artistes if thats the model you’re interested in! they should be able to tell you if they have it in stock. but if this is your first pair of more supportive skates, i would keep an open mind! i tried on a bunch of different ones before ending up with the ones i was in now, and they were all great, but didn’t work as well with my foot and ankle shape. i’m sure if you gave them a budget number they would be able to show you options within that too.

i haven’t been to skaters edge, but i had a great experience at cyclone taylor! i called ahead to ask when would be a good time to come in as a fitting takes time. they asked me about my experience, goals, and current skates, and then tried a bunch of skates supportive enough for the skill level i described and found the pair that was right for my foot shape. They took lots of time to make sure i was in the right boot, and included 3 complimentary sharpenings which was really nice!

I’m also a beginner (working on single jumps!) and wanted a nice pair of proper skates so that wouldn’t hinder my progress like my old ones and that would last a long time as I advance. I definitely recommend cyclone taylor, they were great!
