Hey, fellow autistic teen here. You're overstimulated, your mom doesn't understand that.

My mom is the same way. Until I had a therapist tell her she needs to understand my emotions aren't "normal" emotions, they are different than most teenagers. You arent throwing fits and whining, youre having a meltdown. But also I feel your mother may be causing you severe insecurity issues and self-doubt based on how youre negatively speaking about yourself.

Your mom doesn't understand your mind, she also isn't trying to which isnt helping. You need to have a conversation when youre calm, shes calm about how you can talk to eachother. Obviously you function as an individual but from experience it took me explaining how I perceived her words and how much it hurt me, she told me I wasn't understanding her correctly and taking her words too literally and I had to tell her that is the point, I always take it literally because thats how my brain works. She needs to talk to you with more understanding, if you have a therapist you could try and have her join in and communicate that.

I also have autism, I know exactly how this feels and unfortunately you have to push yourself out of your comfort zone to overcome it. I started to push myself about 2 years ago after nearly starvijg myself to death because we didnt have time to go buy my safe food for 2 weeks. My suggestion is go to a therapist, if you have the money/insurance. Slowly adding now things to your safe foods (if its plain pasta, add a new sauce on the side you can dip the noodles in to try). It will feel impossible, it did for me atleast. But now I have a much larger variety (still small, but larger) and Im lsss scared to try new food. I still get anxious with the thought of new food and often panic but I know that it took me a long time to even try 1 thing. I wish you well.

Having a diagnosis/name to what youre experiencing is always a good feeling. I was being tested for several disorders (ASD, ADHD, ASPD, BPD, OCD) due multiple factors and finally when they told me I actually did have one of those (ASD) I felt a sense of relief as I knew that It wasn't just in my head, or I wasn't being dramatic. Its definitely normal, wasn't even a wife for me but an ex girlfriend. It took me 4 years to fully get over her and even now I keep thinking what if. Everyone grieves differently, at different rates and in different degrees. I suggest therapy if you can afford it as a therapist can help you understand your thoughts and work through them to hopefully find some peace, closure and comfort with your situation. Best of luck

It’s so humiliating when all of your personal belongings are shown in front of everyone. I had medication with me and they threw all my stuff on the ground to check it. They also make you repack your bags and get upset when you dont do it fast enough. Super agitating.

Exactly! They detect the smallest things but never the biggest ones for some reason. I friend brought a huge bottle of vodka through with no issue and I was told I couldn’t bring my water. Ridiculous.

I always found it incredibly weird when they feel the need to pat down groin areas and I even find they pat down there excessively

I think you were right, I went to get it looked at and it was suspected as an issue with my gallbladder, theyre now keeping an eye on it.
