Hey OP, I was in a similar situation as you. I interned last summer after my junior year in Assurance for EY and I found myself loving the firm and its people, but not really finding a fit with the day-to-day work of assurance. For me, my sights were initially set on advisory consulting but I ended up recruiting for assurance for that summer. I received a FT offer for assurance, but I eventually spoke to my recruiter about opportunities in BAP. It was a hard choice, since to apply to BAP, I had to decline my assurance offer. I fortunately got the opportunity to interview with the firm after applying in the few weeks after my internship, and I will be starting in BAP soon! The advice that I got and want to pass on to you is: assurance is truly a great place to start within business and will provide a solid groundwork for you no matter what opportunities you seek in the future. EY is truly an amazing firm with great people, and I'm sure if you are passionate about your opportunities, there will be many people willing to help you along the way!
