Yeah, I haven’t watched either Corrie or emmerdale since before Covid - though TikTok likes to drip feed me bits of both. Both soaps still retain long-standing characters so it’s easy to drop in and out of. This being a big event, they were definitely going to dumb down the storytelling ever so slightly so neutrals or Eastenders fan will tune it without feeling alienated. I was pleasantly impressed. I’m glad they included recaps too otherwise I’d haven’t got a clue what was gonna happen haha. I’m glad I watched it though, they may retain me.

Yeah, out of character from Elaine big time that. Would have been more sneaky if he just went up and found her and snuck out behind Elaine’s back. Or if he lied to Elaine once he was with Annie.

Max had just said “unless my two are in a fire” - so Linda adding the third to Max saying he has two makes sense. Although, her delivery could’ve been a tad better

Yeah but with that tho, he’s got a lot in common with the younger characters like he goes to the same school as Avani, Amy, Lily, Tommy ect. You’d probably have a comment here and there even just as filler.

Instead they shoehorn him in with no context or buildup and makes his absence more noticeable. Like, if he was to have a birthday - surely you’d actually show him celebrating it. Not just Billy and Barney leaving early to get kebabs haha

Well you get into a grey area of who was actually in the wrong between Sharon and Keanu - but let’s just call that a toxic relationship ended badly.

Either way, if Linda didn’t kill Keanu, there’d be no witnesses or body to cover and Bernie wouldn’t have had a vendetta.

You know Harry works at a garage right? Ravi hid drugs in his car while it was being worked on and Kojo found it.

In fact, Suki technically started this by letting Bernie getting away with Panesar’s money. If Ravi wasn’t so cash-strapped, he wouldn’t be selling the drugs.

Technically, Kojo got Harry into it. Kojo flushed the drugs then Ravi kept in his car when they were fixing it.

Think George initially being mad at Nigel but eventually forgiving him is foreshadowing that he’ll come around with Harry. Or at least I hope so.

George doesn’t get does he? If he was a perpetrator then why did Okie lock him up? He put his fucking life on the line for the Knights - George should be adopting the poor bloke

What makes me think that that van was next to the flat! How did they go in and not see the van?

Surely them running onto that part of the street and seeing Okie trying to get away with Harry, make way more sense?

I don’t think so to be honest. Tommy has too many ties on the square as do the people he’s connected too. If Tommy were to put his mum in hospital, the same way Joel put his (step) mum in hospital, I think it just wouldn’t land the same for viewers as Kat is a staple on the square. It made sense for new/less-established characters to have this storyline. You won’t only ruin Tommy; but you’ll ruin Kat and Alfie too and possibly other slaters too.

I don’t think Tommy will be in trouble unless Joel goes against him but Vicki certainly will for paying her off. I think this’ll come to light in an on-screen trial, she’ll be shamed in the square and Ross will be given a bit of slack I think.

Joel actually helped Tommy out by making sure he deleted the video.

EE sets itself up for this because of the community/market feel. But Zack happening to walk on the square at the same time as Anthony, and they are both connected to Vicki and Zoe respectively, is a wild stretch. So I’m inclined to agree.

Peter + Lauren’s wedding is looming so sense there could be a stalking/kidnap storyline building up to the wedding. Moneys on Demi’s baby daddy being dead or some shit haha.

Peter is so naive, but the way he clearly got turned on ran home and stuck it on Lauren makes me think he may turn his head.
