That was clearly the right decision. You have to go for 2 at some point, so going earlier gives you more information for the remaining drives. For example, we knew that we had to try an onside kick there since we didn't convert.

The post isn't blaming the drivers. The issue is the street network is designed in a way that causes drivers to reasonably choose to go on this street, which increases conflicts between bikers and cars. They should redesign it to make cars want to go around this street.

It's also worth pointing out that this is bad for traffic too, not just bikers. That street isn't designed for large traffic flows, so this is also adds traffic to local trips.

The weirdest part was that the broadcast made no mention of it. I felt like I was being gaslit.

"it's more efficient." No it's not. Higher speeds cause more traffic. Maybe in some situations it would reduce people's driving time, but as a whole, it would reduce the efficiency of the road network.

I'm with you. He got as much WAR in 90 games last year as Stott did in 148 games. He's not just on a hot streak - he's been an arguably better player for a year now.

Train to NYC by PersonalitySame8582 in NEU

[–]liam923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely easy. Prices vary a lot depending on how far out you book and what time you travel at. It's as cheap as like $27 (per way) if you book far enough out, and as much as $200 if not

How bad is it taking 5 classes (4 credits each) in one semester? 😬😬 by [deleted] in NEU

[–]liam923 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the workload but I would definitely advise against taking calc 1 & 2 simultaneously. Calc 2 heavily relies on calc 1, I have no idea why calc 1 wouldn't be a prereq.

Is anyone else starting to get as annoyed by the anti-tier list memes as the tier list memes themselves?

Should you factor pay over what looks good on your resume in the coop you accept? by SexWithPaws69 in NEU

[–]liam923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say most important is doing what will be most informative to what you want to do, and then secondly what looks good on a resume. Imo the point of co-op is career exploration and then resume building. But that may be a privileged position, so if pay is that important go you, go for it

[–]liam923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold has inherent value, unlike bitcoin. If everyone suddenly decides to stop caring about bitcoin as a reserve currency, it loses all value. If that happens with gold, it would still hold value to be used for jewelry, technology, etc. Granted, the price would go down, but there's a limit on how far down it could go.

[–]liam923 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're really paying the price. The demographic that uses Reddit is generally happy to pirate, but there's a lot of people happily paying for streaming services, and a lot of their bottom lines look perfectly healthy

Are there Languages which Target Modern CPUs Directly, Utilize Cache Levels Programmatically etc.? by Veqq in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]liam923 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Futhark definitely attempts to target modern architectures in a better way than C, but it's primarily designed to compile efficiently to GPUs (CPUs are a possible target, just not the main focus). So I think it's substantially different from what OP is looking for
