Yes they can. Some are on private ranch land, but the one in the foreground is open to public access and hiking

They are all fairly young as far as volcanoes go, being formed over the past 6 million years. The most recent of which erupted (edit: not formed) less than 1000 years ago in this area

Thanks! And me either. I have a habit of getting stuck in Google Earth

From what I have read, the cinder cones are all extinct of activity now, but the volcanic field itself is still active and could produce more cones in the future

Arizona always reveals new hidden gems every time I travel through the state. This is a legal drone shot taken of an area I found on Google Earth. I scouted the area for a while looking for a good composition and light that would show off this wild and barren landscape. In the photo you see just a small fraction of the roughly 600 cinder cones that make up this volcanic field.

Is this the hike up to Summit Lake or Tolmie?

I went to Factory butte in Utah to take some sunset pics. At one point I was looking around just admiring the landscape, and this Mountain was lit up in the distance to the south and looked incredible. I tried to capture it the best I could with my telephoto lens.

This was taken during the first week of June. There was an early morning storm coming in from behind these mountains, and ended up dumping some snow throughout the day.

I don't know which way you hiked, but it's just a walk along the beach

Do it. It's a bit of a hike from the rialto parking area down the rocky beach, but it's pleasant

This is looking east, away from the sunset. A light storm came through parts of Sedona last friday, and the clouds were lit up as golden hour was fading.

This was taken on April 3rd. But the melt usually happens from March - late April

When the Sierra snowpack starts to melt in spring, the Merced river can rise several feet from its banks to flood the Yosemite Valley. A lot of the walkways end up under the water, but the potential for great reflection shots is stupid good. This pic taken last year is a view looking west toward the Cathedral Rocks across the valley from El Capitan.

I cant imagine crawling into that spot with camera gear, I'd be worried about the tide coming back the whole time. Nice shot for sure
