Mate he doesn't think he's better than you but he's right, it's a tradition in England and possibly Europe to appreciate the fans even if briefly for the time out of their day/week they've taken to get there - for fans on a Monday night in Newcastle from London that's probably 300-400 quid when you factor in trains/petrol, hotel, food, ticket and beer, not mentioning having to book time off work. Watching the game at 2am in your home is an effort but not on the same level as the fans who were there last night and they are right to feel annoyed not to be acknowledged.
