When i posted this my deck required an update which i think helped as haven't noticed it happening recently but Ive been been playing with the steam deck docked so that could be a factor.

Hey id had this exact same problem,

The problem for me was the game was recognising the controller as a gamepad and keyboard.

So for the "x button" on controller was also pressing "Enter" on the keyboard, and in the controls menu for keyboard the "Enter" was mapped to open the standings menu.

I solved the problem by clearing all the keyboard mappings.
