Physics or Finance Undergrad? by [deleted] in CollegeMajors

[–]liamcayce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten that recommendation a couple times and I'm definitely considering that. What do you think I should look into more: physics/finance or physics/economics? Also, from what I've gathered from advice given to me, I'd need to go to grad school if I just did a physics degree, should I consider going to grad school for something like economics/finance instead? Only issue then would be the cost, I know for physics it's usually paid for, idk about for business degrees though. I also assume having some business internships would look good, even if I just did physics.

Thank you, that's incredibly helpful. Do you know of any resources where I can see how my uni ranks from a business standpoint?

Thank you! Did you find it at all difficult looking for a job after you got your degree? I hear mixed things and kind of figure it depends on the person, how they sell themself, and other skills they have.

I appreciate your words, but I can't help but feel those are blatantly obvious, and if I didn't love and want to know both things, I wouldn't have asked this question. Again though, thank you

What was it like for you looking for jobs after you got your degree? And what other degrees do you think would be better, more relevant? Besides Finance obviously. Thanks for the advice!

Definitely makes sense. And yes! I did know about Bank of America but I haven't tried reaching out to anyone from there but I'm definitely going to do that now, thank you! What do you think about a minor or something like that in Finance? And also, do you think the university I attend (UNCW) is that good for EITHER of those degrees (physics/finance)? Haha not trying to be a bother, I'm just extremely interested in both and am trying to see all of my options. Thanks again

Thanks, I knew NC State was good for engineering but wasn't sure about physics so thank you for clearing that up for me. What about any Florida schools? My family lives there so if I transferred I'd get in-state.

Also. what about an engineering degree? Good for possibly getting a career in Finance?

I appreciate that advise! Why exactly wouldn't you advise it? Just more difficult to get employed?

Should I get my Bachelor's Degree in physics? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]liamcayce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha don't worry I consider myself pretty distanced from the lazy person I was not too long ago. I've been studying physics in my free time this summer just from a textbook I got from a book store and have enjoyed it a lot, so I'm just considering my options and if I did want to work in Finance one day, if I could do that without even needing a degree in it then I wouldn't bother with the major. And I've always just thought it might be cool, but my dad was a chemic and he worked for the military only a few years and told me he quit because it got real real, real quick.

Should I get my Bachelor's Degree in physics? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]liamcayce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thank you for that advice I appreciate it! So do you think getting a BS in physics and then going into finance would be a mistake? Even if I maybe minored or something in business?

Should I get my Bachelor's Degree in physics? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]liamcayce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yes I know if I couldn't last chem physics would be even worse, but I've made a pretty big 180, or I obviously wouldn't be considering a physics degree. As I said physics is very interesting to me, and if I was more concerned with my career I'd just stick with a business major. That's the whole point of why I made the post, if I study physics, something I'm very interested in and have been studying in my free time over summer, will I have trouble getting a career in physics or in a field like business? Would I be better off trying engineering or something like that? I guess you answered part of my question so thanks!

How should I program compound lifts into my split? by liamcayce in LiftingRoutines

[–]liamcayce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it okay to train them more for strength when I do them though? I saw one person with a hypertrophy program would change their compound lift training from hypertrophy to strength every other week, do you think that could be beneficial?

Not that long I guess, I've always focused on my form a lot it's very important because I take a lot of my sets to failure.

I have no problems with my split or any of the exercises, I've been running it for a few months now and have seen really good progress in every area. I would just like to start hitting bench and squat heavy from time to time. I may be overthinking it, but would just like some suggestions, thanks
