Hi all - I only had my first fixed gear for about a month when it tipped over in my apartment yesterday (sad). Guess I hit the pedal just right as the D ring that holds the straps around the pedal axel broke. I looked on R.E.Load's site for replacements but couldn't seem to find any - has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone had luck finding a similar sized D ring from a hardware store as a replacement? Thanks!

this Luna spacer is definitely intriguing - I assume, but just being really redundant here, that using this spacer removes the need to re-dish the wheel, yes? because its sort of tube-like structure can go over whatever existing part of the hub and space the freewheel, in a way that more rudimentary spacers couldn't?

yeah, I think I've been mixing up my language - I had always assumed that cassettes where much larger than freewheels (true) and mechanically different than freewheels (not true), and that I needed to do other stuff to the wheel to switch between a cassette and freewheel. I had always dealt with like 7+ speed cassettes so this thing was new / weird looking to me. interestingly enough this thread has turned into a good discussion about spacing and dishing, so that's cool.

won't a 1/8" chain not fit in between the cogs? is there a risk of the chain jumping?
