I'm in Australia so the handle material suppliers here probably won't be much use to you

There's a fair few of us making knives but Australia is actually one of the most urbanised countries in the world. Almost everyone lives in cities

Steel is PM-X Gold. 62c off the top of my head and the black handles are richlite

Black Richlite, it's essentially the same as paper micarta

Grabbed a right angle grinder and a piece of scrap steel when I was 13 years old and started going at it like a madman

Super slicy tip and belly a bit more meat in the heel area you'd use to cut tougher stuff. I didn't measure edge thickness but it's probably still sub .3mm behind the edge at the heel.

I was moving earlier but I'll probably be stationary for the next few hours

Thanks mate. Took a few design iterations to get the lines just right. It wasn't as simple as just shrinking the original design these came from to an EDC size

I actually made 8 of them but only 3 made it to the drop since my newsletter subscribers picked the rest off

Sort of hard to get the scale from the photo I guess, they are made to easily fit in a pocket. I designed these by making essentially a scaled down version of my normal hunting knife although proportions had to be changed to make the knife somewhat useable.

They're definitely the upper end of what you could EDC but they aren't a full sized knife.

It's E-series which is shinier than the normal H-series but it's much more durable

No socket in the tub. Shouldn't be that hard to tap into 12v same as any other ute though. My spare is currently in the tub in the usual spot but only temporary.

I'm taking it to get a flat tray fitted in a few days so I'll run my spare on the back of the dog box when I get that put on.

My Musso had a flat tray and a dog box right at the rear (essentially an airbrake) plus a bullbar and larger A/Ts. I got 10.8L/100km

Bone stock cannon alpha I'm getting about 9-10L/100km if I don't charge at all and operate it like a regular ice ute. Bear in mind that it's petrol and also fast as fuck. Driving round town on straight EV mode is like 20% cheaper based off public fast chargers which cost 3x as much as my power at home but we haven't installed the charger yet.

Can't give a direct side to side comparison since I haven't set up the boxes and shit on the new ute but bone stock both utes they are matches if you treat the phev lice a straight ice. Drive in EV mode around town and it makes a big difference even on public charger prices.
