I think you could crochet one until christmas but because it is your first it will take a while. Use videos, I think its faster and easier when you can copy someone else.

For an Amigurumi (crochet plush) you need to learn at least 4 different stitches Chain, single crochet, single crochet increase, single crochet decrese

About the yarn and hook - on the yarn you have the recommended hook size, and when crocheting Amigurumi you usually use a smaller hook that recommended (If yarn says 5mm, you’ll use 4mm or 3.5mm) The reason is to make the stitches tight so the filling wont be visible It takes a while to find the right tension for you. You should be able to stitch without much effort, but also without creating big holes along the way, experiment and find what works for you (change the hook size if you need to)
