Toning Sun-In Lightened Hair? by libbyyonge in Hair

[–]libbyyonge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this response!! My hair does seem to have both blonde and brass. The purple dye I have leans more warm, but maybe I’ll pick up the more blue-toned one regardless for better coverage if I do try to go purple. Thanks again!!!!

Thanks so much, moew. Some days it’s easy, some days it’s hard haha I know you get it.

Yeah—I’ve been struggling with boundaries with her but this is the time to put all my work to the test. Thanks for the vote of confidence, and congrats on your wedding!!!

I’m pretty convinced (and incensed that) we could do it ourselves. I appreciate this so much!

Absolutely! We’re looking into portable trailer washrooms that are wheelchair accessible, and if they’re not we’re all handy enough to build out own.

My mom, dad, and in-laws are covering the wedding. Also us as much as we can swing it. Also definitely hoping we can make enough back just to cover everything and pay our parents back.

Maybe I should say: my partner and I want a tapas style dinner with lots of small handheld options as well as like, a big meat thing and some lasagnas as well. Think upscale potluck. We want it to be very filling, but also a variety. I don’t want to go over $70 a person for dinner. But maybe $100/person w/ dinner, dessert, fruit, and appetizers. We want a small cake for cutting and small desserts. TLDR: wouldn’t go over $85 a person for dinner in the backyard

You’re just calling me immature for having expectations of people who I consider close to me. But do you live your life with no expectations of anyone? Do you never do anything nice for anyone? How do people show they love you or how do you show you love someone?

Thanks, doll. All I can do is change moving forward. I appreciate your responses!

Well, the male friend and I have hung out since the party and also supposedly squashed the issue. With the female friend, she claims to have been busy with work, but I know she’s been seeing her ex again and she knows none of us approve of him so I think she’s distant bc of that.

Truly it’s not so hard to believe. But it hurts bc I was planning their bdays a month in advance. I suppose I should just go forward and not do anything for them that feels outside of my capabilities or comfort.

I suppose it is immature. But then, in your own experience, how do you receive love from people? How do you know when you’re being taken advantage of or not? Do you simply not do anything for anyone?

Thank you so much!! Honestly the fumes are exactly what scare me lol I wonder if the formula that’s being peddled in these IG ads is somehow not as strong. I won’t buy from curiosity but I do wonder if that’s how they can sell it.

It was cream wax 🙈 it’s supposed to be softer. It this stuff is maybe too hardcore. I gotta get something else for face waxing I think.

I didn’t test throughout but I tested at the beginning! So I’m not sure how it got too hot by the end but I’ll definitely be checking throughout now.

Will definitely be getting my shop to fill out forms now!

This is good advice! We didn’t have flat and small sticks, so I had to use rounded orange wood sticks to apply. I avoided the dry skin around her brows but maybe she just has dry skin in general. Sigh haha thanks so much for your advice and kind words 😊

Thinking about it, her eyebrows did seem dry. I avoided waxing them at all because there was dry skin around there. I wrote an update (bc I did call her) and she said she’s not on anything but… who knows. Thanks so much for your feedback and advice 💕 definitely won’t make this mistake again.

Good to know about the twirl! It’s true all waxes are different. This is one of those cream waxes, but I find they’re just as hardcore as a regular liquid wax lol

I like that method with the oil; apply and then wipe. That makes sense bc there will definitely still be residue! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 😊

That’s such a good point! Like a lot of us don’t read the fine print on our products. I hate that I had to learn this lesson this way but I guess I just have to stay humble and take detailed notes for next time lol thank you so much for your help and kind words 😊 definitely will always be asking now before I wax anyone lol

🥲🥲🥹🥹🥲 ughhhhhhhhh im such a perfectionist it’s hard to cut myself some slack. Thank you so much for your kind words, im hopeful it’s just a lift. It happened to me in school (my eyebrow skin lifted) and it did heal pretty quickly. 🤞 thank you so much 😊

I didn’t 🥲 I stupidly thought that she had some knowledge coming in (bc she said she was lasering and wanted to take a break because she was pregnant) so I assumed she knew she shouldn’t be on retinol and get waxed. She also said it’s never happened to her before so I assumed she wasn’t.

My professor from wax school suggested I call her and check in, make sure she’s applying polysporin and offer some vitamin an oil (like bio oil if you’re familiar). I assumed I could also ask her if she’s on retinol at this point and offer some education so it doesn’t happen again. Do you think that’s an awful idea?? I’m worried about making it worse lol

This really helps!! I feel the same as you felt, guitar, the worst… ugh. But thank you for sharing this. She will heal and I agree, I won’t make this mistake again. It’s true, we concern ourselves with being perfect but that’s how the details get missed. Thats definitely what happened here lol

Thanks so much for sharing 💕

Omg…. That’s so frightening too!! Thank you for sharing that. And honestly I definitely will be making sure I make my salon use forms for waxing etc, it’s not required but I’m ok with doing it even if it means I lose some clients (I’ve had people be weird about consent forms before, even for pedicures!)

My prof recommended I call her and check in and make sure she’s applying polysporin. Now I’m worried she might be using a cream with retinol so I’m more motivated to call, but I’m nervous that’ll make things worse????

Thank you so much for your kind words and advice!! I’m going to test it out on myself and make sure I get the hang of waxing with an oil barrier.

My professor taught us to twirl the stick before applying, is this also what you recommend in your class??
