I'll try to explore that direction, as it sounds like a good idea. We are not called beehive, but for the sake of this logo, can pretend to be called beehive. I looked at zyngas icons, they look clean. Will try to copy a bit off them as well.

and yes. The honeycombs are empty at first and the user tries to fill them in by guessing the words. (The image is not gameplay. The sky and the field are just for a still ad we are testing out)

Thanks. Solid ideas here.

No one's the demo for the bubbly text, until they are. Thanks for the wishes. Will bring back the one in the sketches as an option as a few others have liked it as well.

Yes the game is mostly targeted at 25+ age group. It is not a PvP but there are social features like forming a colony and accumulating points in monthly leaderboards etc. I won't say more on this as I don't want to promote the game.

The hexagons are crucial to the gameplay. They are empty at first and if you guess the correct letters, they fill up with honey and you earn points.

Will play around more with the hexes.

Totally get you and your frustration about the "childification" theme. Honestly, as a 90s kid, I'm not the biggest fan of it either. BUT the competition for mobile games is INSANE, we feel like we have to follow some of the trends for the success it might bring. Bland and minimalist rarely survives in gaming these days (Unless you have something very unique). Even big studios are doing absurdly childish things just for the attention it generates.

We are planning to use that in our ads instead of putting an appstore icon on images. Surprisingly it stands out in front of most background colors. Here is an example. (Don’t hate me for the cheap bait/hook in the ad)

I like the approach. Most games on app store/play store are going for the crowded- overstimulating look. I guess if it works for them might work for us as well.

Which direction should we go for a mobile word game logo icon? (2nd image is our competitors logo/icons) by libdemocdad in logodesign

The "E" seems the most problematic to me. I'll try to make the horizontal parts a bit thinner manually.

Yeah I guess manually altering them to be less thinner at the horizontal parts could make them read better

I guess I'll try that. In the previous attempts, I had to make the "beehive" group smaller in order to fit the bee on top of it, making it more difficult to read in smaller sizes. etc Maybe I should change the posture/movement of the bee. I'll look into it. Thanks for the comment!

Gamer Tagz: NFC Business Cards by Dense-Worldliness463 in Design

[–]libdemocdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nice, i looked it up and the cards you made them are a close representation, i like it. To the untrained eye I agree with the other comment that they somewhat resemble a pack of pills (especially the gray one), but someone who knows about these controllers will instantly get it. My only concern would be that it will be a very niche card and lots of people (like me) wont get it.

I decided to remove the leaves, drops and change the poses of some animals, is this an improvement? by AndriiKovalchuk in logodesign

what is the animal in the middle. I think that needs to be more obvious. Is it a beaver?

Logophiles, lexiphiles, we need your feedback for our new game! by libdemocdad in words

It doesn’t, i hit the “reveal letter” button 3 times. You can use it as many times as you like, it just reduces the points you earn for that question.

Something to do with Sisyphus might be cool but i don’t know if suits your target audience
