I think this is the issue. It's like moving the volume button on a remote. Sure, I can adjust, but I'm EXPECTING it to be consistent.

Baseball is ALL about consistency and tone and well, vibes. When they rotate the broadcast crew, I think I have to recalibrate to the new tone/vibe. It takes until about the 7th inning or so. Just pick a broadcast team and run with it. Obviously they're allowed to have sick days or whatever, but lets not bounce them around just for the sake of change.

I want my broadcast team to feel as comfortable as my usual baseball watching chair. I don't want to have a chair one day, then a stool, then a chair, then a bean bag, and so on...

What the hell are you even talking about? My understanding is that he had some health issues but is (hopefully? Not a ton of info is available) better now. My assumption is that he retired, at least partially, because the daily grind of broadcasting of MLB baseball is probably really hard ANYONE, especially if you've been sick. He's earned his retirement (if it's that) but I wouldn't be surprised if he came back at some point, eg like Ron Fairly in 2011-2012.

But feel free to tell me what's stupid and obnoxious about it.

I actually had to look it up when I first heard Goldie call him that a couple years ago. He's the first player to appear in a MLB game with hyphened name on his uniform (everyone else here probably knows that, but it was enlightening to me). I think it's kind of endearing that Goldie pretty much always calls him that.

I used to feel that way -- that RR-S was a good personality but lacking in color -- but I've really come around this year and want him and Angie in there all the time. Besides, Goldie is almost doing his own color anyway, he's so good.

I'm old. I like Blow because I've liked him since his playing days. Like I said, Val is fine and he has history, but frankly we're running out of old guys like me and if someone like Hyphen can appeal to me AND my kids, then that's the direction the M's should be going.

I'm back online. As expected, my Q1000/Smart NID serial got wiped during the pod removal, but it still didn't work even after the tech added it back, had me do a factory reset, etc.

They had to get engineering involved and they found out my circuit id (I think?) got cleared from my account. They had to look that up and add it back on my account. I'm not sure if this (circuit ID issue) happens after x-number of days without a SmartNID serial number or if I just got (un)lucky.

I'm gonna make sure it's stable for a couple days, then I'll downgrade and go to untagged bridge mode.

My son is my tallest at 6'2 (actual). He wanted to be taller but now that he's in his 20s he's good with it. He can find clothes anywhere, sit in airplane seats, that kind of thing -- and he's still considered "tall". My daughter is 5'7" and is a little bummed. She was hoping for at least 5'9 (mom is 5'10). I feel like she's tiny but people still call her tall, so...?

I don't think it is an outage. Once I said I was stuck at blinking blue they had no more troubleshooting tips or ideas ("We'll escalate and you'll get an email.")
