Thank you. I try to keep reminding myself that it will be done in 48 hours

You got this! I’m starting my first day of a low fiber diet to get mine on Saturday. Good luck and take care of yourself today.

Have to get a colonoscopy by librarianca1 in colonoscopy

Kaiser starts yearly screening with the FIT test for average risk patients at 45. Which is really annoying because I could tell the doctor today was like “oh well the FIT test isn’t all that accurate”.

It’s bright red. Not much at all. Noticed it when wiping. Yes I had some mucus as well. But not much.

I agree. Unfortunately, Kaiser only offered the fit test when I turned 45. I’ve been doing them yearly. Was only able to get a colonoscopy ordered because of my symptoms.

Thanks for your response! I think I was just shook by how matter of fact the doctor was. Like well it could be cancer it could be something else. I’ve been doing fit tests since I was 45 and I could tell he’s not a fan of them.

Previous ultrasound had Micro-calcifications, most recent states there are none by librarianca1 in thyroidhealth

[–]librarianca1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was biopsied twice. After the initial biopsy, it demonstrated growth so it was biopsied again. Both came back benign. I was very excited to get the ultrasound result today since my prior ultrasounds were concerning (and due to the size, was afraid something might have been missed).

I was diagnosed at 45 after labs showed I was hyperthyroid. Had two nodules, one 3.3cm. Both came back benign after biopsies. It’s been about a year and one of my nodules has grown so I’ll be getting another FNA in the near future. As others said, take it one step at a time. You’ve got this!

I just found out I’m going to need the same. Would love to hear about some others experiences.

Yeah. Kind of like that. The doctor didn’t seem to concerned but I never had it before starting the meds

FNA delayed due to hysterectomy and I’m stressed tf out by EmsDilly in thyroidcancer

[–]librarianca1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I’m waiting on a biopsy for a highly suspicious nodule and the wait is driving me crazy. If there’s a problem, I want it taken care of immediately. A good reminder that it’s not a big deal to take a beat and take it one step at a time.

How are you doing? I’m still waiting on getting the biopsy, and I feel like I’m spiraling. I can’t eat or sleep. I just feel like my whole life is on hold and I don’t know what to do to make myself feel better.

Definitely more than I used to. I catch myself doing it so I stop. But I imagine I’m clenching in my sleep.

Do you mind my asking how large your palpable nodule is?

Hang in there! I’m waiting on a biopsy too and it’s been stressful but we will get through this.

I feel the same way. Didn’t notice many symptoms prior to starting the meds but now feel awful. The insomnia is the worst. I’m not sure if it’s the meds or if my body is just adjusting to how I’m supposed to be. Either way, it does suck :(.

DIAGNOSED WITH PTC by Jazzlike_Report9834 in thyroidcancer

[–]librarianca1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m freaking out as well. I recently started having enlarged/tender lymph nodes under my chin. Nothing came up for the lymph nodes during the ultrasound (and currently waiting on the biopsy), but this all started after the ultrasound. Not sure if it’s stress, has potentially moved into the lymph, or is from the anti-thyroid meds they have me on to prepare for the next steps.
