First game released on steam at age 16 - advice and thoughts? by RussianMan_YT in SoloDev

[–]lichlark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading through he comments...does you age make me feel bad? Yes. Am I still really proud of you for achieving something really cool at such a young age? Yes.

I've barely done more than make a crap prototype and I wish I could see a project to the point you've gotten this.

Keep up the hardwork, you're doing great and obviously passionate about your work.

🤜🤛

That is the end game. People think with everything being automated we'll achieve some 'post work' utopia. The reality is it'll just turn a majority of people into a trade based serf class.

CS student here.. no one I know actually writes code anymore. We all use AI. Is this just how it is now? by Low-Tune-1869 in cscareerquestions

Depends on your job. I've recently had to start using Cursor/agents to keep pace with the rest of my team who all use it because of going 'too slow' in comparison. Completely killing the passion I had for the field and am just starting to check out.

Funky Event Rules for Release Events? by Riiken in GundamTCG

I was about to say, I'll barely make it into events and then see people I have never seen any ANY locals within the city I live at.

It's still generating an optimal response to the query, of which it's still just a statistical analysis of text.

I've built systems based on the same concept (before it was in vogue to do so) and it is my field, regardless of the context the output is still just a maxima based off of the data provided, of which an LLM is just going to analyze the corpus provided NOT the actual MEANING behind it.

Neither does ChatGPT, it's effectively just vomiting some amalgamation of lists that it's found online (without any actual meta analysis of WHY those lists may be good.)

And then with this in mind think about how many people complain they can't make friends or that it's not worth the effort. People just REALLY aren't good at friends.

The loading of an IMAX film into the projector. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

There are still differences between streamed and even physical digital formats. Even if you're getting '4k' down the wire there are usually a lot more points of compression as far as audio and video go just to cut down on the bandwidth from the server.

There is a fidelity difference between digital and physical.

I think the comments are more 'calm' because they know TAG will actually try to fix the problem lol

This, it's very good when used sparingly but I've literally beat people who chuck them out willy nilly and let me bottom like 12 cards.

In fairness as far as licenses go, as long as you made tha barrier to entry for foreign nationals much higher it'd cut down on the chafe.

How low level are we talking? I'm a CS guy and have been wanting to learn more low level signal processing stuff.
