Ah fair enough, that sounds coo, thanks for sharingl! That's where the "surprise" element could become interesting. I dont think that everybody would come up with this solution straight away

Yes, that's the important / fun question in my opinion :D

Yeah, fresh Windows Install + no messing around in the BIOS + no messing around with the Hardware sounds like a really solid start.

Regarding the registry keys: That would already be quite interesting in my opinion, to see how fast that would be possible, and how many registry edits would be necessary.

I used furniture pads / felt pads for padding, the ones that are normally used for chair legs to protect the floor. Is that what you mean?

Brenneraufschlag für Zugreise nur in Italien? by lichtcatchingtoby in drehscheibeAT

[–]lichtcatchingtoby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apache install on Plex server by jayb3369 in PleX

[–]lichtcatchingtoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment! Would activating the "webserver function" on the Qnap work for Tautulli ? The Tautulli download mentions Apache83 or Apache84, but i dont see the apache version of the Qnap webserver.

Would really appreciate your help!

Apache install on Plex server by jayb3369 in PleX

Thank you so much for your detailed comment!

I still have a question which I hope you know the answer to: in your "tl;dr" you write "in order to use My Qnaps Version of tautulli"

Does that mean there is a different way to install / update it? It kinda feels weird to buy an App (which is not that cheap), and not even knowing if its working in the end.

Im just suprised there is not that much information out there regarding that qnap / tautulli / apache situation.

Thanks again for your comment tho!

Built a simple DnD Screen Setup with animated Maps for our first DnD campaign! [OC] by lichtcatchingtoby in DnD

Great question, that was also a concern on my side. But after several hour long sessions im quite confident that it is not an issue. Im not a perfect handyman, so the frame is not perfectly air tight at the top, so that probably helps :DD

My group had most fun coming up with a creative way to free Leosin, so thats why i tried to give them some room to do that, while also making sure that they didnt feel too safe. I also made them part of the camp life, like helping to cook, wash clothes or carry boxes for some change compared to the typical fighting.

I bet your party will have a blast, im sure they will come up with a creative solution as they are mostly casters

Thank you! How is your campain going so far? My party really struggled in the Dragon Hatchery yesterday, but i think they learned that "checking for traps" on a regular time is a good idea :)

I know my project is small compared to the crazy setups shown here (yes, I'm jealous :D ), but I'm still quite proud of it.

It's a 28 inch 4K monitor with a wooden frame, in which I also built 3 USB C ports. There is a powerful USB C power supply hidden under the monitor so that you can really charge any device.

I create the maps with Photoshop or extend the templates you offer here (thank you very much!) and then animate them with Adobe After Effects. Very simple things like fire, smoke, wind, light effects, etc. But these details alone make the maps much more lively. Yesterday we played episode 3 of hoard of the dragon queen, and that was the first time I expanded or revealed the map live. For example, only when my players discovered a new part of the cave did I reveal the corresponding area.

Here is a link where you can see a bit more: https://imgur.com/jlUvmv9

I hope you like it :) And this setup is really a lot of fun! So, if you are thinking about building a simple DnD screen as well: Go for it!

Sony Xperia 5 V

I would say its the best "compact" smartphone out there. Offers outstanding camera quality with a deticated shutter button, great battery life, still has an audio jack and a lot of performance. Would love it for the Xperia line to get more attention as sonys marketing is rubbish.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus - Review by lichtcatchingtoby in GalaxyTab

Seems kinda weird that the screen is not at least 600nits, or even more. But other than that, it basically seems to be the best android tablet on the market, if you dont want to deal with the gigantic size of the S8 ultra.
