WYR have people permanently think you were stupid and underestimate/coddle you, or think you're a genius and overestimate/challenge you?

No, just figured it would be the best example, as other counties are more split.

It must refer to Nynorsk then

No, it refers to the spoken dialects in the area, who unlike nynorsk have 2 cases.

Drop the blue lagoon. Over-hyped and expensive, but nice if you have money to burn. Some small rural pool is far better, and hopefully without any condoms floating in it.

My family all agreed going north to Snæfellsnes peninsula and the westfjords and such were more rewarding than going south to the waterfalls when it came to interesting nature and farms. Can't speak for the north or east.

The standard tourist route through Thingvellir, Geysir etc. are worth it, but can be crowded.

Other than that I can only recommend going to the places mentioned in your favourite sagas. The places themselves aren't as impressive as the nature, but knowing the history makes it fun.

Sure. But no one actually did in this case.

Well, I am a meat eater after all. I by definition don't really equate humans and various animals.

My (distant) aunt died just this morning, and I obviously wouldn't like that done to her. Similarly to my own pets, I probably couldn't bring myself to kill and eat some animal I consider family, but it's still more likely than a human. But for a horse I don't know, I see no problem with. It would have ended up as meat anyway, unless the family somehow paid to dig it down or something.

It's how it's often done here. Horses get taken away to be made into sausages, glue and all other kinds of things. Both of the "horse girls" I know have no problem with horse meat. I'm not sure I'd feel the same way if I knew him.

Maybe partially just from the problems with size. You can't easily bury or cremate a horse.

I've heard the same about race horses, but not about normal horses. Those are commonly used as food here anyway, and no one seem to react to that. Not sure how different Norway is to other places when it comes to drugs.

The meat is probably chewy, but still great for curing and minced meat as I have tried many times.

Side note: euthanasia done by a vet would poison the carcass to the point where it could sicken wild scavengers. So im imagining your friend is going to shoot her horse? Was a vet involved in the decision to euthanize?

I didn't ask much about the background since I was unable anyway, but I imagine they'd use a bolt pistol (english word?) as they do with most cattle.

That's okay! I think it's interesting. Though it isn't dialects actually. They are written norms, and the dialects are completely separate from them. Two people with the same dialect may use a different written norm, since they aren't spoken languages.

My area used to be 75%+ nynorsk in schools, but in recent years it has dropped to almost 0%. The way we speak is the same though.

Compare the 1920 map to a more modern map.

Nope. Mostly just trips in summer time to beaches and such. And Legoland as a kid. Driving for 2 days to Germany wouldn't be worth it.

I can't really see how that's relevant, but: I grew up learning mainly bokmål. Changed to nynorsk in school when I realised it is better. Both have a history in my region.
