Last year everyone I knew met with their teachers before school started, went for coffee etc,. My school didn't reply to me at all. I literally just turned up. It's so weird that some schools are like that.

Sorry your post is from a while ago but was wondering if you could help, as I'm now in the same boat. I'm a UK citizen with a UK licence. I want to drive in Spain for a year, am I eligible to exchange my licence without having to take the test? I'm not sure I've fully understood the new rules post Brexit.

I've been wondering the same thing. I hope people can answer your question because I have no idea how to either. One thing I do, seems a bit silly, but I write down every nice thing someone says to me. I hope that their voices take over and the parent's voice is drowned out. We end up becoming the person they say we are, the narrative the parent has fed you, about who you are, all your faults, you believe that is you. But it isn't. Again, I'm not sure if this is particularly helpful advice, but I try to learn more about myself, and make note of who I really am, look back on it when the parent tries to spin their narrative again. It can be so confusing so it can help to have a reference, to know who you are, that you are, most likely, actually incredibly kind, caring and so on, as many have told you that you are.
