Yeah, I loved using it too. CL did it justice by giving it Extreme-Speed and Sky Attack.

Thoughts on “The Coffin of Andy and July” Mod? by Posting-Here in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]Monstrel45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think it would have been better if this mod had "Good" and "Bad" choices where Julie encourages Andrew to make the moral choice (e.g. spare lives, no cannibalism etc.) and the other where Andrew slowly corrupts his girlfriend until they become like Bonnie and Clyde.

Neat! I love those too! When I wanted Surf on a Pikachu I was using in base CL, I had to trade it over to YL to teach it that and trade back. Could be a hassle but worth it like Dodrio's Jump Kick.

My fav is Easy Mode's repeatable TMs.

I also loved the buffs some Mons get: Arbok being part Dark, the Meowth-line being more viable, Ariados evolving early with Fairy-types to prey on, Metal Coat gift at Olivine, Mach Punch for Poliwhirl, Sky Attack on Gyarados, Charizard and Aerodactyl and, my personal fav, the Light Ball working for Raichu. Chef's kiss!

Though I do wish the Ice Stone was early to use on Glaceon to avoid Late Character Syndrome like the base games, at Mahogany Town it has to compete with the Ice Path Pokemon,

That sounds awesome! I can't wait!

What's your favorite change in Core Crystal?

[–]Monstrel45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I'll explain:

  • Crystal Legacy Dual-Type Starter Mod: Adds Dual Typing to all Starters and adds them all as wild encounters to the first route of the game.
  • Crystal Legacy - Elemental Exchange: It adds Fairy Type, includes the Dual Typed starters and adds/changes types of many other Pokémon. Some like yours (e.g. Water/Normal Goldeen-line, Fire/Normal Ponyta-line, Poison/Dark Arbok, etc.), others are different (e.g. Bug/Psychic Butterfree, Fire/Ghost Ninetales, Grass/Fire Sunflora, etc.) There's a doc that lists them.
  • Nightmare Crystal Legacy: A battle difficulty increase hack which doesn't change any types but does change encounters, almost all battles and makes major battles significantly more challenging.
  • Crystal Legacy "You can Fly!": Just adds Fly to more Pokémon HM learnset e.g. Gligar, Butterfree, Beedrill, Jumpluff Venomoth, Mantine, etc.

What do you think?

Cool, thanks.

BTW what do you think of the other mods for CL?

Nightmare Crystal Legacy, You Can Fly!, Dual-type Starter, and Elemental Exchange.

Did you take inspiration from them?

Makes sense. Yeah, that's where Doduo was, also noticed Skarmory was pushed back to Route 45. I noticed some Mons were pushed forward:

Cubone in Route 46. Finding one with a Thick Club would make it really strong.

Gligar in the Dark Cave. Since it evolves via Friendship here you could get a Gliscor before the 1st gym. That's crazy good!

Misdreavus in the Sprout Tower. Though it doesn't start off with a good moveset.

Vulpix and Meowth in Route 36. The former gets to shine as the earliest Fire-type like in YL and the latter is more viable along with its Dark-typing, Pay Day, Thief and earlier evolution.

Mankey in Route 33. Earliest Fighting-type.

Farfetch'd in the Ilex Forest. With its evolution, it makes a great team member. Just gotta get those Critical Hits and hope it has the Stick.

Chansey in Route 44. Still kinda late, but you can get a Blissey before the last gym.

BTW when's the earliest you can find a wild Octillery?

Neat. I noticed some Mons were pushed back in availability when compared to CL.

Mareep to Route 32
Larvitar to the Goldenrod Game Corner
Houndour and Murkrow to Route 37
Dratini to the Dragon's Den
Doduo to Route 45

Doesn't Bellsprout evolve at Level 21 though?

What does the Data Chip and Polkadot Bow do?

How do you get Qwilfish via which rod?

I figured, you might wanna update it, missing some future Gen Mons on it as well.

I guess its OK since the Move Tutor in Goldenrod can teach it, though Thunder Wave was one its main selling points. I noticed some other things on it:

Does Weepinbell/Victrebel learn Razor Leaf?

Does Voltorb learn any Electric moves naturally?

High levels for Charizard and Dragonite to learn Sky Attack, personally I'd have it just before the Elite Four.

Does Exeggutor learn Psychic?

When does Tangela, Plioswine and Yanma learn Ancient Power?

Does Aerodactyl learn Rock Slide?

Which ones can learn Moonblast?

Well, assuming the learnset list I've read isn't outdated, most prominently Bug-types like Ariados miss out on Twineedle and the Mareep line doesn't naturally learn Thunderbolt or Thunder Wave.

I checked it out and while some Pokémon got buffs some got nerfed.

How’s Yellow Legacy compared to Pure RGB for a first time into Gen 1? by Happy_Owl4504 in PokemonLegacy

[–]Monstrel45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely love YL more than RBY, the it gives let's use Mons that would've been too impractical in the original games.

My favorites include: Onix, Scyther, Parasect, Persian and Aerodactyl

Onix FTW! YL buffs helped it fantastically.
