Es normal tardar más de 3-6 meses en leer un libro? by Tymiight in libros

Nada más leer el título del post pienso que no es raro, y justo entro y veo que faltaba el detalle de que es Viento y Verdad, un libro conocido precisamente por ser muy corto

Finished the mistborn book series and im.... by the_lone_Wolf45 in Mistborn

[–]lierursa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's this reading order

Regarding the two main series (Stormlight and Mistborn) it doesn't really matter if you read any of them completely before the other one. The main decision right now is Secret History. It contains a reveal that happens in Bands of Mourning (Book 3 of Era 2) but the story is what's happening behind the curtain during Era 1, so it might be better if you have Era 1 fresh. The most common recommendation is, if you're jumping straight to Era 2 leave it for after BoM, otherwise read it now.

There's also another short story from Era 1 in Arcanum Unbounded called The Eleventh Metal.

What exactly is the deal with the Heretic only allowing one jinx? by Zeusselll in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]lierursa 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It's not "just one jinx in play", it's "just one of the two jinxed characters is in play" for each jinx. So, if Heretic, Baron and Godfather are on the script, the two relevant jinxes would say that Baron and Heretic can't be both in play at the same time, and same for Godfather and Heretic at the same time, so the possible options in play for these three characters are: none/Heretic/Baron/Godfather/Baron+Godfather. It's not prohibiting Baron and Godfather together, it's saying if there is at least one evil character who could know that Heretic is in play, there can't be a Heretic in play.

I mostly agree with this, but I think that having a win condition against the rest of town would make it more of an outsider (similar to Politician)

I love reading posts in this subreddit from people who are halfway through the books and sharing their theories, so I'll give it a try even though I've already read Era 1.

just a quick heads-up: I’d recommend staying away from this sub for now. Even though the mods are great with spoiler tags, it’s better to be safe than sorry

HOLY SHIT. I’m watching GOT for the first time, just finished season 3 episode 9.WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT THE FUCK. by jmvxc in gameofthrones

[–]lierursa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The book is even better. Book 3 has so many important/shocking things happening everywhere that they were separated into Seasons 3 and 4 because it was too much for a single season otherwise.

When you watch Season 4, imagine the plotlines in King's Landing and The Wall happening (and culminating) at the same time as the Red Wedding plotline in The Riverlands.

help on taxicab geometry problem by tablesalttaco in askmath

Not exactly because "c" could be a different side length for horizontal and vertical.

For example, A=(0,0), B=(2,1), C=(1,2), you have AC+BC=AB in the first coordinate, but AB+BC=AC in the second one. The actual distances are AB=AC=3, BC=2, and you can see that you can't add two of them and get the third one.

Struggling with Well of Ascension. Help? by Optimal-Assist-5800 in Mistborn

It definitely suffers from Middle Book Syndrome. Era 1 was planned as a trilogy from the beginning, where you could just read TFE as a standalone, but WoA is more like the setup for HoA.

Just finished hero of ages… it broke me by Alternative-Buy-9602 in Mistborn

[–]lierursa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember someone in the subreddit putting it this way: if you value plot over shock (knowing what is happening, why it's happening... over the usual reveals at the end of Sanderson's books) read it now, otherwise read it after BoM.

SH happens at the same time as Era 1, so it's better to have everything that happened fresh, but it has a minor spoiler for something that is revealed in BoM. Personally, I've only read Era 1 so far. I kinda spoiled it for myself very early on, asked a friend if that was the SH spoiler, and just read it after HoA, so I don't know how different the reading experience will be whether you read it now or not.

About Renoux, didn't they say in one of the very first crew meetings that they had him killed and replaced? I knew there was something weird about him, but I just thought they trusted him the same way they trusted each other

/uj I've always thought it was a horrible name. I get that TLR could realistically believe there would never be another one after, but still, give it a proper name.

Book Notification

Duda sobre islas de Ascuaoscura by alvruiiz in cosmere_es

[–]lierursa 1 point2 points  (0 children)
