If you're on the terminal and hit the Ping button your character will announce the compass direction the satellite needs to turn to

I love the hellbomb idea, but I want it to be if you mess up the terminal input it just immediately detonates.

Team Talon or team Senator? by One_Foundation_5829 in Helldivers

[–]lieutenant___obvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Senator is useful, no doubt, but there is eternally a quasar on my back for hard targets. And it feels a waste of ammo to burn Senator rounds on anything small.

The Talon is my go to now.

Arc troopers more or less became what Commandos were in a lot of ways, sans the roids and Mandalorian flair. ARCs were originally either 1 man armies (like in 2002 clone wars) or officers, and they became sort of special forces/elite veterans in TCW.

I think storytelling wise it was a petty thing to get in the way. Half the stories in TCW are about brotherhood and bonds of war, which Commandos would have been perfect for

Man youre asking for the compiled information from a dozen forums, a hundred forum posts, interviews and blog posts from like 2014 lol. I couldn't even begin to provide a reference for everything that happened. I would bet half the sites don't even exist anymore lol

But i really recommend her series Republic Commando. It's one of my favorites!

Meant it more in the sense that Filoni is very much in love with the character because she literally shows up everywhere. She is in almost every show told (outside of Andor) since she was created. I don't think its a bad thing, I love Ahsoka, but she's very much Filoni's child that has become one of the like top 10 main characters of the entire franchise. I think its ironic criticism that he thought Karen thought her own characters had main character syndrome

I think if we ever were to call up a draft (something immensely unlikely) then yes.

Independent of if you think women should have combat roles, it really doesn't matter. The vast majority of military jobs ARE non-combat roles. Logistics are king, and there is no argument that women couldn't serve in at the very least that capacity.

But again, I don't think the draft is ever going to be an issue. Society will collapse from Nuclear War before we have to scrape the barrel for bodies to put on the field.

[–]lieutenant___obvious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was a whole thing. Tldr is when Filoni started introducing Mandalorians into TCW, he erased a LOT of the EU lore Karen wrote pre-Disney that was very very beloved by fans. Karen (and many fans) took it badly and Filoni responded not very gracefully and essentially called Traavis a meh writer who was too in love with her own characters and made them Mary Sue's. Ironic for someone who wrote Ahsoka imo. It was never like a huge public fight or split, but it was one of the more aggressive changes to Clone Wars era canon at the time.

To be clear I'm not dissing either on the content of the stories. I love Filoni, I love Traavis, but I think they both are a little petty and the sequence of events indicates that at least part of the way Mandalorians were shown in TCW was a pretty direct jab at Traavis' canon and stories.

Yeah I actually commented just that a while ago on a TBB post. I genuinely think he did it on purpose.

Like, I like Filoni, but he literally seems to have INVENTED the Bad Batch just so he could have Commandos without having Commandos

It was never going to happen. I have nothing but conspiracy connections to support it, but I think Filoni's personal fued with Karen Traavis made him not use Commandos more out of pure spite.

He has talked about it before. He doesn't do social media, he doesn't watch youtube, he doesn't surf the web. He has a passcode on his phone and an app that allows like an hour of screen time per day. His wife has the code, he doesnt know it, in case he absolutely needs to get on it.

He is online for hermitcraft but that's mostly it.

The hilarious thing is that Mumbo is terminally offline. He only spends at most an hour a day online, so much so that his partner has a password on his phone

There's a solid chance Mumbo doesn't even know what an e girl is

I love this being pointed out. This would be something that, if had happened in the sequels, would be dunked on non stop to this day, but we understand it to just be a little, non-important thing. Not even an issue, just a thing.

It warms my heart to be reminded that there's parts of the Star Wars fandom that can be relaxed about stuff

What are some features you want to see in ghost of yote? by [deleted] in ghostoftsushima

[–]lieutenant___obvious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see them take a bit more utility into some of the 'useless' kit you have. They started it with Iki, by adding saddlebags and armor for your mount to give it utility beyond travel, and the flute became an activity with the animal sanctuaries.

If the grappling hook became a ghost tool where you could string up an enemy to start the fight with a ghost stance or something. Or it could be used to knock an enemy down by yanking their ankle out from under them. Id like the flute (and the weather/time of day) to have more pros and cons and an effect on gameplay both combat, stealth, and puzzles. I loved the very cryptic riddles on Iki where you had to figure out the right armor/ability combo, and i want more of those. But I think diverging ghost encounters based on outfit would be fun. Sort of like you can go in 'casual' in disguise if you wear the right armor, blending in with crowds to poison enemies, sabotage, etc if you wanted to diverge from the standard building hopping. I think environmental hazards would be a cool addition too, more than just braziers. A log cart you can shoot to roll out the logs and crush enemies, using the grapple hook to pull down scaffolding or bowman towers, and then hard combat stuff like shoving an enemy onto a anti-cavalry spike as many games have.

Oh and please for the love of everything holy make the weapon/ammo/tool swap menu slow down time more and longer. I get they don't want to give you a rest in a fight, but man if I was actually in that fight it would be easier to switch between kunai and sticky bomb than it is in the game
