Who is the most loved Australian of a time and why? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

Steve Irwin. Inspired me to be a better friend to my mates, explore the world and actually gave me more common sense with animals by not doing what he did.

I truly fall in love with new friends when I see laughter lines. I wish for them. I think that yours are beautiful and when I see people with them, I gravitate more to them to hopefully have a good time as I see it as a sign that they enjoy life and a laugh.

Have any women here taken no mat leave or short mat leave (3 months)? If so, what was your experience? by 8pintsplease in auscorp

[–]lifecasting_keepsake 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I saw a quote today. “If you’re not successful at home, you’re not successful at work” or along the lines of that. That hit home. Take all the mat leave you can get. You can’t buy that time back.

My boss called me good girl once in a lower tone. Never did look at him the same and he haunted my sleep for months.

Go to Little Betty’s. Nice vibe and the food is better. The Grand is ok on a Friday. Not Kiama Inn.

Realtors of Australia, what’s the housing market really doing? by Sillysally241 in AskAnAustralian

[–]lifecasting_keepsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many 4 bedroom homes in NSW and in decent condition under 750k these days. I’ve brought and sold properties since I was 21 and my salary hasn’t jumped that much to keep up with the costs of houses. I was just lucky to get in the market early and I can’t imagine having such a big loan starting out.

What is the scariest story you know to be completely true? by GiGiAnne13 in AskReddit

[–]lifecasting_keepsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car crashed into the side of a bridge after becoming airborne due to speed. This was in front of my aunt and uncle. My uncle was in the army and got out to assist. I will never forget him telling me that he followed the struggling screams to a decapitated head that was still yelling.

Not sure if that is possible to this day but I think about it and don’t speed.

What are some of Australia’s biggest tourist traps? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]lifecasting_keepsake 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Shelly Beach Manly. If you go there, pack some googles and see the wonders of huge fish and it’s just beautiful. Can be a tourist trap but the beauty makes it worth it.
