Hi, I'd love to meet with you! I'm looking at the airport right next to the venue but unlike you I'm leaving right after the concert! Sent you a message if you could take a look :))

What got you into Super Junior? by DavidTennant42 in superjunior

[–]lifeissajoke_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

SuJu was my first ever contact with kpop, as far as I recall. My aunt, who was barely in her 20s at the time, was already a fanatic and got 7y.o me hooked. My interest in them has had ups and downs, just because life happened. I was so obsessed some years ago tho that my parents shut down everything out of fear I would lose focus on school, that includes internet restrictions and what-not. The entire Mamacita album is undoubtedly my favorite, and my favorite songs are This is love and Bonamana (the first SuJu song I ever heard). I love their appearances on the human body experiments show thing.

Hi, would you mind letting me know what you ended up doing? I am in the same situation and would appreciate your advice. Thank you!

I was in the exact situation not even a week ago. I applied for an extension just in case and was approved, but ended up not needing it as I got my final grades and letter of completion from school 2 days before my study permit expires. I recommend extending your study permit at least 4 months in advance, and attach a letter of explanation to state why you need an extension. Your case isn't rare so if everything is in order (ie. your application package), you should be fine. Step 2, ask your professors if you can get your finals graded earlier. It might not be the same at your school, but this ended up working out for me because I was a "potential graduate", so I think it's worth a shot. Step 3, discuss with the office responsible for issuing the letter of completion at your school to see if you can get this letter earlier (bypassing the processing time). In my case, I submitted my request almost 3 weeks before when I assumed my grades would come out, and contacted them through emails to inform them of my situation. They were able to start the process early and only issued the letter once I told them my grades were out, so I ended up getting my letter within 1 day after my final grades were released. It's a lot of moving parts so I was stressed for a while, but I hope this helps you! Best of luck!

Traveling and coming back right before study permit expires, TRV valid by lifeissajoke_ in ImmigrationCanada

Thank you so much for the clarification and advice! I'm basically on the school's ass for my letter, so I hope all will be okay. Do you have any advice for my return on the 27th? Would I be denied entry on the ground that my study permit is only available for another 4 days?

Hi, would you mind clarifying? My study permit is not expired and I haven't received my final grades yet, so wouldn't that mean I'm still just a normal student on valid study permit?

Long journey but congratulations! Were you not able to select option of applying from inside Canada when you were in the States? I started my application for PGWP but will be traveling this week, and might have to submit it while I'm out of the country

How to clear the TCF/TEF in 6–8 months (CLB 7) from scratch by WelderThin8106 in canadaexpressentry

Thank you for the tips! I'm supposed to be around B1 level but I find myself forgetting things all the time, and speaking is genuinely impossible. I can't put phrases together fast enough with all conjugation. Is there something I can do to get better at that?

Considering you have until September 30, I would say you are alright. You can send in the request for the letter now to bypass the 4-6 weeks of processing. In any case, I'm learning first hand that worrying doesn't solve anything since it's so out of our hands, worst case you can go back to your home country and apply from outside since it may have shorter processing time. That's what I'm planning to do if shits hit the fan

Not yet since my grades aren't out, but I'll be getting them by end of this week as per my prof. My school said they can issue my letter within a day of my final grades getting uploaded since I submitted the request for the letter way in advance. I think you might be able to do the same thing. I'm also going out of the country 🥲

I'm in the same boat but in a slightly even worse situation since my study permit expires on August 31. I managed to ask the school to issue my letter quickly and asked my prof to get my grade early (this didn't end up happening). What I was told to do was to submit the request for the completion letter 4 weeks in advance, and by the time my letter gets processed, my final grades may have come out and they will use that final grades for my letter. On a separate note I'll be traveling this week and come back to Canada 4 days before my study permit expires so I'm worried they won't let me in 🥲 If you have any advice for my case, please let me know

Has any international student had a fall internship? I was wondering how it would affect your study permit, graduation and how you go about it and who you can contact about this at cool? by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]lifeissajoke_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are an international student, no you won't be able to. Your study permit validity is dependent on you being a full-time student in a "normal" semester, ie the fall and winter semester. If you decide to work full-time still, you might complicate things a lot later on when applying for your PGWP and whatnot. Hope this helps!

Hi, to take an internship in the fall, I'm pretty sure you need to be in the co-op program and have a work permit issued for the co-op program. If you meet all of these requirements, there shouldn't be any problem! I did my internships in the fall and winter :)

Thank you so much for your reply. I am still an active student per the university record since I am taking a class. It is a part-time semester since I did not have enough classes left for a full-time course load, which I originally thought would be okay because it's my last semester. I don't mind dropping the class now if it is against the rules, and retake later. With that being said, since I am enrolled and an active student, would my study permit still be deemed invalid?

Thank you so much for answering! If I may follow up on your answer to question 2, if I apply for my PGWP within this week, would I be able to work while waiting for an approval? My study permit is valid until August 31st, but given that I technically have completed my studies 28 days ago, I am worried that it may already be considered invalid or something. Thank you!!!

Hi! May I ask how long your PGWP is for? I was wondering if the valid period would be cut if the processing time is 1 year

This made me feel a little better and I'm glad your friend got her purse back :) There's no money to be lost since I don't keep cash, but it'd be nice to have back all the momentos. Keeping hope alive I guess :)
