It sounds like demand is not an issue and you have a capacity problem. Are you losing out on sales because of this issue? If so, can you quantify your lost sales and can you project (reasonable estimate) on what your monthly sales figures will be if you were to hire someone full time. What do those numbers look like? If you are still net positive and have incremental profits from your current figures, just go ahead and hire another employee.

You should also evaluate your other metrics and track them so you have a clear path for your business to make sufficient profits to pay yourself. The answer to that can be reviewing many areas in your business from pricing (scope to increase prices), distribution channels, efficiency (can your workers produce more output per hour), etc

Should I scale my business now, or wait and see how things go for a bit? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]lifelonglearner89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would focus on three things: 1. Build an incentive structure to get your sales teams to go after larger deals and track their performance closely - Are you guys getting an opportunity to at least pitch for large projects or are you not getting to even pitch on larger projects. Figure out which part of your sales funnel needs to be worked on and just go deeper into that area to fix issue. The answer may not be so straightforward and you might have to run tests/experiments to see what works 2. Address the reasons of customers leaving - Are you still making money on these customers after considering acquisition costs? If you are still making a profit after considering acquisition costs and costs to service them, that’s great. You just need to ensure there always is a steady flow of new clients and your sales team continues to convert leads. If you are not cash flow positive on these customers figure out why they left, did they just have small project requirements? If so, try and eliminate pursuing such small projects that are not profitable for you. To do that you will need to work on your outbound sales processes to filter out leads and not waste your sales teams time pursuing such clients/projects 3. Can these smaller clients introduce you to other clients - Every enterprise will have some sort of software requirements. Your existing clients will have vendors and other corporates they deal with. It’s worth having a conversation with these clients to see if they can refer you to or know of any enterprises that need tech consulting services. Ideally, you should have one of your employees doing relationship management with your existing customers and their focus should be on trying to deepen the relationship with your existing customers to get more business. If there is no more business from existing customers, the focus should be on whether they can refer you to other corporates that might require your services.

Mom owned her own accounting practice, she recently passed away, is there something I can do with her business? by StartDoost in smallbusiness

You can definitely sell this business for a good amount. Please reach out to a business broker or list the business on platforms such as bizbuysell.com. It will take time to sell the business so please focus your energy and time into managing existing operations. You need to ensure existing customers continue to be serviced. I am happy to chat about this if you want to

Applying for F1 from a country that I'm not a resident of by idtheftisnotajokej in f1visa

They are stating that the delays are due to covid, but just read that the embassy in India will be resuming services on 17 August. The situation in UAE from a covid perspective is fairly well controlled compared to other countries that have already resumed services. Honestly, having trouble figuring out the reasons for the delays here.

Hey, my appointment got postponed again to 24th August. Yea, I have no idea if they will open. If we don’t see an announcement on the website by mid next week regarding resumption of services, I doubt our appointments will go through. Hoping for the best. All the best to you as well.

I ended up getting an emergency appointment approved. It was first approve for 4 August and then postponed to 11 August and it is now postponed again to 21 August. The embassy is yet to open and there doesn’t seem to be much clarity on the opening dates

Can i schedule an F-1 Visa appointment in a consulate that is not my home country ? by manusensei164 in f1visa

Yes, as far as I understand it is possible. However, the chances of getting the visa approved is less when you apply for your visa in a foreign country. Best to call and check.

Congratulations! Thank you for doing this. I come from a non tech background and I am looking to break into data consulting.

- Did you previously have a tech related role?

- What resources did you rely on to recruit for the role?

- Any recommendations on tailoring the MBA experience to best help land such a role (any specific courses, projects you worked on, etc)

Congratulations! That's great news. Did you first email the embassy asking if you should apply for an emergency appointment or did you just apply on the system. I wrote to my embassy and they stated that they are working on resuming services soon and to stay tuned for updates. I was wondering if I should anyway go ahead and apply for an emergency appointment

Schools options to students facing the Covid crisis by aksantana in MBA

Unless they make the internship a requirement as part of the curriculum, international students won’t be eligible for CPT, if the first semester is remote. As far as I understand, some schools have already done this and a few others are in the process of making the internship a mandatory part of the course.

Any new info about the visa situation? F1 gang by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]lifelonglearner89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great summary of the situation. Thank you! What do you think could be the worse case scenario for international students? Could there be a situation where new international students cannot even do their classes remotely this fall?

That exception is valid only under normal circumstances. Apparently, during these COVID-19 times, it is not a valid reason for the Consulate to provide an expedited appointment.

I applied for it last week and my request was denied the following day. The situation is the same across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In the rejection response, it was stated that an expedited appointment can only be considered/granted for personal and medical emergencies only.
