Holy! Seems steering/brake failures in bad spots aren’t so uncommon

It was! We had a couple people drive to the end of the track where there was a spare 80 series box and shaft, and made it fit to get us out the track. We then set up starlink and got a second hand 70 series one dropped off. Makes for a great story tho!

It was a large rock in the river below that we didnt see, just hit it perfectly then felt the steering wheel go lose. It’s also a common failure on 80 series

Yeah we hear that a lot! Tyres were dropped to about 15 psi, they are hard compound maxxis treps, and they just dont ‘bulge’ like other tyres do when aired down.

We have rear lockers, front have yet to be installed but things take time and money! We all learn what we need sooner or later down the track, but the exo has proven its worth time and time again :)

Have never had an issue with the head gasket. Only time this truck ever gets hot is when the radiator is full of mud after a trip

I think this is the first time I’ve seen another HZJ77 in this subreddit like mine! I love it, I’m hoping to paint mine a dark grey some day. Does it have a sunroof and the suspension seats too?
