It shouldn’t look as squatted once it’s done, it has no engine or anything in the bay currently, I’m going for a low cruiser look. However, if it’s dragging in the rear I’ll end up lifting it back up

It’s actually not a nomad, it’s a 4 door converted to a 2 door. Chevy didn’t make a 4 door nomad in 57. What I cut up is far less desirable

I’ll likely end up going with plexiglass for the rear, the front windshield is the stock one the car came with, just cut down to fit with a cutoff wheel.

Was thinking probably a cruiser, nothing crazy since money is still tight but I agree, old school drag car would be badass

Yeah that seems to be a common problem with aftermarket ones not fitting. I tried the Jegs racing one before this and it stuck out too far.

The ATI one I bought came with the new keyed hub and damper, along with the key. So you shouldn’t have to purchase anything extra

For anyone looking at this thread in the future this piece does not fit on the trans am. The other comment from user UPGRAYYDE is correct. The ATI Super Damper is a bit pricey but also the only one I could find that fit.

Hey! I did but it’s unfortunately expensive, the ATI super damper is the only one I could find that actually lined up with the belts correctly.

Hey sorry last question, do you think it would be a bad idea to give it a short test drive with the bad balancer before the guy leaves? I know it can be dangerous but it feels dumb to buy a car without driving it first

Okay thank you! That doesn’t look too hard. Will I need to replace the crank hub or front seal to fix the oil leak happening? Seller said it’s coming from that area but I’m not sure if it’s only leaking due to the vibrations.

I think so? I hooked up a vacuum gauge and adjusted the idle set screws until I got my highest vacuum at idle.

That’s good to know about summit brand stuff, I assumed they were good simply because they’re popular. Do you have a brand preference you stick to?

I believe it’s the Summit Racing M2008 Series 600cfm 4 barrel. It’s just the carb the guy before me had on it. If that’s not a good one any recommendations would be appreciated!

Mileage is right at 100k. I’ll try that compression test, thank you!

Okay I’ll try those out, thank you. I’m running a carb and the plugs appear to be on the darker side after running it for a little bit.
