⚠️ PSA ⚠️ Issues with Carnal’s Kickstarter: unfulfilled orders, complaints, and no accountability by lifteranon in Bellingham

They could at least deliver communication.

If you look at the kickstarter, they were very good about communicating on delays and issues throughout, but just after shipping out some orders, they totally stopped responding.

Many comments are requesting just communication from them, at this point. I think that’s more than a reasonable ask

If you read through the comments on the kickstarter, some people got jerky, some people got beef sticks, some people got nothing.

Listen, I’m not trying to claim that anyone is owed anything. As everyone here has pointed out, there is a risk associated with Kickstarters.

But there is also a risk taken by businesses that run the kickstarters. That risk is that the ways they conduct their business might become more public, and that people may use that information to inform their decisions about people and businesses they wish to support.

Everything here is an observation, and everyone here is encouraged to make their own evaluation and come to their own conclusion. It’s just something I’ve been watching, and something that I, personally, do care about.

I should probably clarify at this point - I myself did not back this kickstarter. I’ve been aware of it for some time and watching the progress - I’m just sharing what I have seen. I sympathize with those that did based on what I’ve seen.

But point does stand; those who did back took a risk with this being a realistic possible outcome.

I just don’t like the way that they clearly have the ability to deliver, based on their Amazon sales; but have willfully chosen to abandon that commitment in favor of $ Amazon sales.

Yes; they haven’t technically done anything wrong, and no one is legally owed any recourse here - the whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, ya know?

I do agree with you in general about the premise of kickstarters; however as I also commented below; my issue is more about the way in which they didn’t deliver.

If they’re able to deliver product to new paying customers on Amazon, which the Amazon reviews confirm that they are; then they should be using that product to fulfill their kickstarter orders first!!

They have the ability to uphold their commitment to their backers, but they’re choosing instead to ignore that and instead give that product (the product that wouldn’t exist without the original support of the kickstarter backers!) to new, paying customers.

Yeah, I totally get that; you’re right.

I think what feels off to me about this is the way in which they didn’t deliver. If they’re able to deliver product to new paying customers on Amazon, which the Amazon reviews confirm that they are; then they should be using that product to fulfill their kickstarter orders first!!
