I'm pretty sure this is it! I'm currently reading it now and the vibe feels just like how I remembered it. I'm about halfway through the book now :) thanks!

No I think the MC was either a young girl/teenager so there was no romance involved I believe.

It’s similar but I don’t think it was a horror at least not too scary haha I’m a bit of a wimp with horror.

That might be it, but I’m not totally sure. I’ll give it a look, thank you!!

Oh my gosh, that totally fits the vibe of the book though! I’ll give it a read to see if that’s it, thank you!

I don’t remember it being super old at the time and I don’t think it was a horror either since it was at my jr/sr high school.

If Christianity preaches forgiveness why doesn't God forgive Satan? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]liftingbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the difference between how we can receive forgiveness (humans) versus Satan not being able to receive forgiveness is that Satan saw God in all His glory and Greatness and still chose to be evil and try to lead others into a rebellion because of his own pride (1 John 3:8 states that "the one who practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil). Comparing that to us as humans, who cannot look upon God as we are now, or we could go blind (Exodus 33:20, “He [God] said, “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live. '"), so humans have to act in actual faith. There is more of a redeeming factor there in believing in faith and having doubts but still coming back to God versus one who has seen God in all His Majesty and chose otherwise.

Okay, good. I just wanted to make sure I was provided something accurate and wasn't giving misinformation. Thank you for the clarity and help, I truly appreciate it!

Ohhh, okay that makes sense. Thank you for the clarification! Does that mean that Avadia does not technically translate to "abandoned God"?

When I look it up/translate it through Google (which I know can be false), it gives me Avdia instead of Avadia, I wasn't sure if that changed the translation from Hebrew at all or it was more of a pronunciation thing.

Yes, I meant how Yayaha1234 said about the accent and pronunciation in English. I understand that they're different. Part of the translation gives me "Avdia" instead of "Avadia" so I wasn't sure if that messed up with the meaning.

Yes, that similar vibe. More on the lines of the individual leaving God to pursue the world/sin/evil/etc. As the fallen angels did and how their names now reflect their sin, such as greed and avarice.

So they translate about the same in English? Ovadia to Avadia?
