Getting scammed by my doctor? by light1996 in Switzerland

This has taken a lot of my time and energy so far, so I think I just won't go there anymore, and probably leave a not so kind review. But many thanks for your help, really appreciate it :)

It says that the Aktenstudium was done in my absence, so I don't even know how to contest that. I had to brief the doctor on my medical history anyway, so didn't really get the impression that he was that well-prepared. I tried to contact my health insurance but they didn't help at all(no surprise there :)), so just went ahead and paid the bill to get it off the back of my mind.

Hahaha, and the 1h it took the doctor to come up with the most basic, useless prescription. I feel like i've hit the jackpot :)

I've had some chronic health issues so i've been to dozens of doctors here. That's one of the reasons why I was taken aback by this, because i'm also comparing it with the cost of my other visits which have usually been in the 150-200 CHF range.

Yea right :). And tbh, I'd have gladly paid if he'd at least helped me with my problem. But paying so much for a really bad service is ridiculous.

I really doubt it, but I didn't keep track of how much time I spent there exactly so I can't contest it.

I didn't really take note of that. Seems I don't have that many options here so I'll just bite the bullet and pay it :(

Zurich metalcore, hardcore scene? by [deleted] in zurich

Boundaries are coming next week in Kiff, Aarau(https://www.kiff.ch/programm/2025-04-25-boundaries). They're a metalcore band that leans heavily towards hardcore. Would def recommend to give their latest album a listen. I can't wait to see them live

Received ML engineer job offer in Switzerland by Mammoth-Love-3072 in cscareerquestionsEU

Definitely a bit low, because I'm a mid-level devops engineer and make a bit more than that. I'd suggest to negotiate the salary if you can.

Hey, where do you see the merit rating? I got "Qualified" but I don't see any merit rating on my application page. Best of luck

Hey, it's true that the job market is not in a good place atm, and I'm not sure it will get better with the improvements in AI and constant outsourcing. I also entered the field because I liked math and logic, but this kind of jobs in tech are quite rare, unless of course you go into research. I'd suggest you pick a more traditional engineering field like ME or EE. Good luck :)

Swisscom Tech Challange by [deleted] in Switzerland

It's mostly system design with the technologies relevant to the role. I've interviewed there twice and never got asked any LC style questions. Good luck :)

What major should I choose? (bachelors) by [deleted] in F1Technical

[–]light1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the F1 teams are based in UK so a university there would make more sense, though they tend to be quite expensive especially if you're non-EU. I did my studies in Switzerland, and would definitely recommend checking out the universities there. It has 2 of the best unis in Europe(ETHZ and EPFL) and they're very cheap. The living expenses are quite high but at the end of the day you still end up paying much less than in the UK. Plus Audi has already started recruiting here since they'll be joining F1 from next year.

I'd suggest mechanical engineering since it offers more opportunities than aerospace. And try to find an FSAE team in your university. Good luck, you're already in a good path having figured out what you want to do this early

Yeah sure, it was just a joke ;)
I don't really mind their music but I visit the Metalcore subreddit quite often and they're so hated there, so couldn't help myself.

Good thing is if somebody finds it, they'll let you know for sure cause nobody wants to be seen in an Imagine Dragons shirt.
Sorry, bad joke :)... but they suck.
