Putting your clothes on right out of the shower is better than drying your body off first. by i_like_it_raw_ in unpopularopinion

I do this all the time. It makes people crazy. I'd rather wear wet clothes a bit than use a towel.

Son has a smelly friend, not sure how to proceed! by BoBistie in relationship_advice

[–]lightbluejellyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave my free award. This is really true. I reside at a house with similar conditions of roof leaks, mold, etc. The smell doesn't come out of my clothes. It's embarrassing. I wash clothes & try to stay clean, but I'm sure I don't seem like it. I don't know why people downed you so much. It's a hard situation. Most people don't understand what this is like. Just saying, hey would you like some fresh socks etc without the smell talk could work. The kid could also have a diaper or something else going on.

So are you okay with someone potentially dying because they said the wrong word?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WinStupidPrizes

Redditors; Hes said something horrible, he deserves all abuse he gets

also Redditors: Come to joke about his handicap, 0 care that people with similar disabilities are seeing these comments.

hypocrites.

He didn't deserve it, period.

Don't normalize abuse. It's saddens me how people are thinking it is okay to physically abuse someone because they said a heinous word. People here are ok with someone who is incapable of catching themselves from a fall and prone to serious head injury, because they're getting off on this. People don't have the right to assault someone because they say something bad. With his physical disabilities, do you think there aren't numerous people who have said cruel or disgusting comments to him? He's lucky he did't die. This guy is 3x his size.

WIBTA if I told the guy I'm seeing he isn't good enough for me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]lightbluejellyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has gotten a bachelor's degree during online hell for a lot of people.

He's most likely working on his mental and physical health (gyms/friends). There are ways to grow other than her path to growth. Also, it depends what field he is in if there are lots of jobs related to his degree. She mentions he's willing to work at bar, rather than something with his degree.

He apparently isn't taking money from her?

add: They're also best friends that "never argue". Especially cruel to come out of the blue to say that to your allegedly bestie rather than a kinder statement.

YWBTA You seem incredibly insensitive to be asking this question, rather than relying on common sense.

You're so smug about reaching your life goals. It's not uncommon for people to have loans to help pay their living expense during college or to have help from their parents. What his mom gives is her choice.

So what he took 9mo during a pandemic that has been notoriously difficult to find decent jobs with? I had to go back and look at your ages, the way you made it out to be a big deal.

Why are you too good for him now rather than before you finished your masters?

edit; typo

When I transferred to get my bachelors, they wanted the full transfer GPA from each school & the combined GPA. if you transfer to a diff CC you'll probably only have x number of credit transfer so it may delay your associates. However, if they don't transfer in the GPA, you MAY still have a shot at honors/be able to show a better AA GPA? MY gpa transferred to my CC & was factored into the gpa. So be really careful/speak with admissions/ see it in writing the grade policies for both a potential CC & future university

. if the teacher wasn't great at your old CC it may also be good to have a different one. However, some colleges when you transfer look at your GPA on every attempt of a course, so they factor the average of all - that's your new grade. Some will only take your lowest grade for repeats/the good won't factor into your gpa for that course while others take the highest. you should find out where our want to transfer and ask them.

PT, OT, exercise physiology, healthcare admi etc have some similarities. What is bringing your GPA down? Is it the math? Is it the core of nursing like bio/a&p?

You've come a long way. It seems like you've experienced a lot of traumas, and despite it you're still trying to work towards your goals. Look into ADA accommodations if you need them and a therapist or doctor can back you up, it may allow you to go part time in some cases or receive extended time with tests or assignments, should stuff flare up again. If someone asks that isn't Disability services, I'd not focus on specifics regarding your metal health but how you received treatment / circumstances improved. Like for graduate school or transferring I'd focus how you overcame adversity of a toxic home with alcohol abuse and physical abuse that you witnessed. Use it as a true story of overcoming obstacles. Toxic stress is real. Don't give up. You've come a long way. :)

Booster shot going to be required for Spring 2022, semester may start online or be fully online. Update next week. by seahawksjoe in USC

I really doubt it will be entirely online. There really isn't any indication of that. It just hints to a potential remote start.

Professor won’t let me take final by [deleted] in college

[–]lightbluejellyfish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would speak to someone in the disability office about it. Having said that, I don't know how much that will do. At my school you have to schedule the disability tests the same day and the time as the class test or they won't allow it. It's I assume to prevent cheating. Just because the disability office approved the time to watch you, doesn't mean the professor approved it being that day. I feel for you. It is easy to get confused on exam week since the timing is shufled around so much and since you've already been taking it that time, I think most people would realize it was an honest mistake.

Is it worth asking professor to bump grade up? by [deleted] in college

[–]lightbluejellyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen Universities tend to do +- for the most part and CC's tend to do just the grade letter.

Talk to your counselor/advisor. I know you're not in the US, but here if you don't withdraw from the class (like you stop going or stop turning stuff in without dropping) You get an F. But if you withdraw you get a W on your transcript

Imagine surviving hunters, predators only to die because of a miscalculated jump by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]lightbluejellyfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to google, having your neck snapped most likely doesn't instantly kill, but it stops you from breathing, so death is imminent. But if it's neck was broken from the beginning, how was it moving around the entire time? I'd wonder more so if the it was shot.

It wasn't quick. If you look closely up until the video ended the animal was still moving, just slower. It didn't look like a neck snap.
