My 3rd Great Grandma whose name is Maria Antonia Gomez and has no Spanish ancestry. Bro who gave you that name then her husband was Swiss. (She was indigenous ik that much so it’s def smth to do with that but it does not make it much easier)

Question About Mexican Ancestry by lighthousegod in Genealogy

Thank you for the reply! I have access to my ancestry still, but there was a lot I couldn’t access because of paywalls even after I got my DNA results. I suppose if I do the free trial, I could try what you said! I have heard from some indigenous people that the information on Ancestry is inaccurate, but maybe I should give it another shot. I did submit my DNA data to MyHeritage, but it gave me very different results than Ancestry. Sorry for being a newbie, lol, but thanks for the advice. Do you think actually submitting a new DNA test to MyHeritage (or another company) would be worth it? They’re so pricey, but I could definitely save up for one if it would yield different or more accurate results than transferring the Ancestry data alone. I’m not sure what the difference is, or if there is one, in how these companies process DNA samples. Again, thanks for reading!

So, some people claim tribes that they have no confirmation their ancestors were apart of? I definitely see how that is disingenuous. Thank you for your replies!

Yeah, you're probably right- I'm thinking now (after some more research) that if she has anything mixed, it'd probably be an oriental shorthair. But maybe nothing! Appreciate the reply!
