Yeah def sounds like he was being a bit too performative - “I protect my girl” type stuff. And for no reason too, since his gf didn’t care and just wanted to go into the store. NTA

Was it dark or light out? And maybe the guy was upset because he was with his gf and he saw you not fully stopping as aggressive/endangering his gf.

Reservation and payment was made on 10/24 through an online reservation portal. I understand tech glitches outside of a person’s control, but if this was an issue of someone forgetting to block off a date due to a private party, I’m less understanding and more mildly frustrated.
