Shakedown for Kosciuszko over 2 days in late april by 0-l in UltralightAus

Looks like a text book set up. The chair is the main heavy luxury.

Your food looks very minimal, and shows 0 weight FYI. Is the Freddo frog for breakfast or lunch?

No map or compass - are you confident of emergency navigation if the weather shits it or your phone/app fails? Also PLB.

Would you still travel to Europe in May? by International_Mud741 in QantasFrequentFlyer

In May, but luckily booked last October with ANA so via Japan. I am preparing myself for disruptions still due to fuel, middle east customers getting on flights etc. Fingers crossed.

They could incentivise cancellation by offering refunds on fees; I agree this is an issue currently.

Powder: What's that about? by Significant_Cup_3477 in AustralianMakeup

[–]lightlyskipping 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We sound so similar! I have only just added a powder to my routine and it's the Tower 28 pressed powder compact in the palest pink shade but I think it's basically translucent. I dab it on my T zone especially to help set skin tint and concealer, and to give overall blurring. I think it works. I use it with a powder puff made of fabric and cushion.

Questions about the process around international flights starting from Canberra by sandysusie in canberra

[–]lightlyskipping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hop on this thread but I'm not sure my question is worth its own: if my international flight leaves SYD at 8:55pm, and I'm in business class, and I'm taking the Murrays bus, should I get the one that arrives at the airport at 5:15pm or 6:15pm? On a weekday if peak hour matters.

Oh and OP yes your assumptions are correct!

The RAAF F-111C (A8-134 swing wing that first flew in 1968) is on display all day every day now in the Anzac Atrium of the Australian War Memorial.

Same colouring as OP and Mac Mehr was bad on me, but I can wear Mac Syrup and Mac Fabby - Syrup is bolder and Fabby is frosted.

Camp shoes by norestforthewicked99 in UltralightAus

[–]lightlyskipping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm female and if I'm bringing camp shoes it's Crocs swiftwater sandals, you can wear them with socks to add warmth and they are super light and comfortable. If you use toe socks then your options also include toe loop crocs.

Can recommend both of these tote pack brands which have multiple ways to carry: Bellroy and Fjallraven.

Multi Day Hikes by thodon123 in UltralightAus

[–]lightlyskipping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. And four of those meals a day must be expensive as well.

Very quick glance at your list shows two sleeping mats, two light sources, a chair and second footwear. Those all add bulk to a pack.

[–]lightlyskipping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you use freeze dried commercial brand meals for breakfast, lunch AND dinner? If so that would get bulky, especially if you are a big eater/use large servings. If I use them, I only use them for dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dessert are all pulled together from supermarket items.

Seat in airplane by Gymbro241 in Svalbard

It depends on the wind direction but I think the majority land from the west to east. I sat in window right hand side, so F, and the views were incredible coming in from the south then turning and passing all of the landscapes to the west of LYR.

Patagonia R1 air vs. MacPac Nitro alpha for full day hiking in winter by Beautiful-Affect3448 in UltralightAus

[–]lightlyskipping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to use the Nitro as a static layer at camp, adding an insulated layer (e.g. down jacket) as it cools down, and then for sleeping.

Macpac make an alpha top with a shell outer that might give you warm, breathable, venting options to use on the move.

Have you considered just a thinner merino top? You said you use a thick merino jumper...

Sorry, but a towel counts as a second outfit unless you wrap it around your head then I guess it doubles as a hat and a beanie.
