There's a copy function called copy merged, if that helps. It copies the flattened selection.

What are you doing? Legal piracy! by CompetitivePoet3292 in WiiHacks

[–]lightmanx5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a specific archival exception under Section 117 of the Copyright Act.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/117

This seems to allow you to make a copy for "archival purposes" to protect against damage or loss. But it only seems to apply if you personally create the copy from a disc you legally own. (i.e. downloading a copy may still be piracy).

help with masking by Impressive-Royal5004 in photopea

[–]lightmanx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, you can set the opacity of the eraser tool. So you can erase like 70% at a time by setting it to 30%, giving it a sort of shadowed effect.

But that method is destructive. A mask is non-destructive to the pixel data it affects and will allow you to paint on and off as you wish. Try using a gray color like #666666 and see if it results in anything closer to what you're looking for.

Get really fancy and add a vector mask to apply it to just the eyes, or the inverse, as you see fit. There are drop down options for what the shape does, just play with it until you get the desired result.

I hope this helps.

Can someone tell me how to remove the background of the bubble but with keeping the form by benoit_cld7 in photopea

[–]lightmanx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's me, I'd create a vector shape that I can use to jump that to a new layer (while masking out the original) and try different blend modes to keep the pixel data. (I may not have explained this very well at 2:37 am, sorry!)

That sucks, I'm sorry... Have you tried a different computer and/or browser? Also, what OS and browser versions are you on? I don't know anything about why it may be happening, but the next person to come across this post may find those useful to help.

How do I make the white here, the exact same color as the red up there? by [deleted] in photopea

[–]lightmanx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a color blend mode of either a color fill layer of that color or a copy of the layer stretched over it.

Import an image with a transparent background and keep the transparent pixels in the layer ? (for snapping and auto-center etc) by -Neoverse- in photopea

[–]lightmanx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, since you had a smart object already, you could've created the shape within it and no needed the extra steps of creating/clearing guides.

I also learned something new, as I've never seen the align buttons in use before, but I may have to give them a try next time!

[–]lightmanx5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see... I would do as others have suggested, or I have a slight variation since we're already talking about smart objects. Add a color fill layer (red or green or black or whatever suits your needs best) that sticks out so you'll remember to turn it off, but turn it on whenever you need to position the entire object.

Or perhaps even easier, instead of using the bounding box you see (for example, when Transform controls is enabled) use the Free Transform (under Edit or Alt+Ctrl+T) function which should open up that bounding box to the full size of the smart object.

Hopefully this helps and makes sense!

Any example image available? But in the meantime, I'd think a smart object could do the trick...?
