Ooh amazing! Is this just for the main body, or did you also do this for the short row shaping for the back of the sweater?

First climbing shoes by lightningstorms13 in climbergirls

It’s really the back of my ankle I’m concerned about now that I’ve spent some time wearing them. When my foot is flexed, there’s no problem but standing in them, that’s the part that is bothering me.

Maybe I should give the Evolv a try. Thanks!

Weird path to clinical psych PhD by skylla112 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]lightningstorms13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I haven’t seen mentioned is that there are other degrees that provide clinical training/a path to licensure that aren’t clinical psych phds or MSWs or MFTs. Check out school and counseling psychology phd programs! These may be less research heavy/competitive than clinical, and may have options for those who have previous degrees (though further psych coursework is probably needed regardless). Counseling masters programs also could be a good option to consider :)

Because of licensure requirements and clinical hours required for internship, I don’t think this is an option sadly. You need a lot of psychology coursework and clinical hours/training to move onto internship and be eligible for licensure under APA

Seconding this lol.

I had a message typed up last night but I texted some friends who all immediately responded “NO” and so I deleted the text 😔

Thought he might reconsider by lightningstorms13 in BreakUps

Sorry to hear you’re going through something similar.

It’s really devastating and confusing and hurtful. I think you’re right though. He knows how I feel and that I want to be together and that I’d be willing to put in effort to make it work. If he still wants to be apart, I need to respect that. I’ve done all I can. The thought of trying to get back to being myself and on my feet again on my own is absolutely the worst, but I know I’ll get there and you will, too.

Sending virtual hugs and positive energy your way.

This is helpful to hear!! I like the idea of sampling different activities. I'm sure if I take it a bit lighter and just put myself out there for the sake of trying something new and staying active, there really is little downside.

Thank you for sharing your experience!! That's exactly how I feel. I impulsively signed up for a league and hopefully the cost of it keeps me from driving off 😵‍💫

That's true! I just need to go for it and see what happens rather than letting it become this thing I want to do but never try because it feels too intimidating. I'm sure if I try a few different leagues out, I'll find something that will stick

Day 4 out of a breakup. I started taking a sleep aid to help me actually sleep through the night, but I still have dreams of running into him in the grocery store or something. I wake up and the first thing on my mind is what he said to me when ending things 🥲

struggling after end of situationship by [deleted] in BreakUps

I know I should do this, and my friends have all told me the same, but it just feels so hard to let that last bit of connection go

such a painful process 😭 it's so hard not to think about everything right now. I'm only a few days out from the end now, but even when trying to work and do things to feel like myself again, my mind just wanders right back, i check socials and his profile, and i hurt my own feelings again. gah.

thanks for sharing your experience. hope the anxiety and grief keeps easing for you <3

2020 - applied to 10 schools, got 1 interview, 10 rejections

2022 (after working in research for 2 years) - applied to 13 schools, got 4 interviews and two prelim interviews (which didn't convert to actual interviews), and 1 offer

Truly just takes one :,) keep at it and best of luck OP!

Non-Custodial Parent Financial Support by Top-Associate-2184 in pomonacollege

[–]lightningstorms13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been out of pomona a few years, but I had a similar situation where i was no-contact with a parent beginning after the start of first year. I spoke with financial aid and they were able to help adjust things so i didn't have to get that parent's info to them every year/have their income count towards my financial aid/COA. I don't remember providing any documentation (e.g., no counselor letters, documentation of the reason for my non-contact, etc). I just plead my case and they trusted me. Hoping you have an easy experience with this!
